This is truly sad! Why can't Poles get their own place? Is it because they don't want to get married young and tap finance from the extended family? Do young Poles lack the guts to leave the nest?

With the average wage being so low and property prices being very high I don't think its they don't have the guts just its not possible. In my experience Poles leave home when they go to Uni and don't often return to live when they have finished, Where did you get the information from? Also its more common to live with your parents for longer in the UK as leaving home is very expensive.

I live with my mum and dad, where else will I have free meals, dishes washed, loundry done... momma's gonna keep baby cozy and warm, momma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean..

Exactly, and it isn't only happening in Poland.. ;) Do young Poles lack the guts to leave the nest? Yeah, it's always easy to talk when you have money. It's even easier when you're one of those marketing parasites. :)

it has nothing to do with the wage of males.. big majority of females not only in poland but also in world have been kept moneyless and educationless for ages. these female birds haven't been trained to fly out of nest unlike male worlds. these female birds have been being sold in the market to men before as whor*s or as wifes. era is changing and males want to keep things same as before. but, female birds saying 'enough is enough, we too are humans!', but, they are saying this so silently that we males arent hearing their voice. we males need to clean our ears. and hearts.

The boomerang generation became a more widespread phenomenon but likely applied in large measure here. Property is quite expensive here compared to some of the salaries I hear bandied about. Besides, it may just be a stopgap. I lived with my parents when I was at university, moved to Japan for 2 years, then moved back in with them for a few months. I lived on my own for just over 2 years thereafter and 3 with my wife.

There has been displacement of Poles so that's one factor. Another is that there is a family culture here so they wanna be close. Also, they finish uni later. Some are even 25/26 when they graduate from an MBChB or dental qualification. I was 22 when I finished my postgrad (Sep 2000) and 23 when I graduated (Nov 2000) so that puts it in perspective.

we males have been able to learn to fly out in tousands of years even though we have been given a lot... i am sure they are better in making new nests than us males. but, we males are still mentals and complaining like little boys keeping the money in our one hand and guns in our other hand. females already know how to fly, but, we males still wanting them not to fly. (go and listen any father in the world. what does he want for his daughter? to find a richer guy for her to marry her.. as if he is thinking good for her. but, he isnt aware of himself acting like a pimp.. if he was really thinking her, he could give some capitals to her in advance as soon as she becomes adult so that she could be more comfortable when trying to fly. you will keep the bird wounded and then, you will want her to fly out.. see our logic error in our male mind.)

Circumstances play their part. Italians also love being with family, eating meals and talking. There's no great shame in wanting to live alongside your family.

Circumstances play their part. Italians also love being with family, eating meals and talking. There's no great shame in wanting to live alongside your family. Has more to do with the long term unemployment rate and the price of real estate... and mamas cooking might have something to do with it.

it is not exclusive behavior to Poland but a worldwide one. More children stay with their parents mainly because of finances.

this concept 'being adult' is problematic.. as i said above, most of married guys are like children of their wifes. their marriages are like leaving mom for another mom. i trying to educate father to make him adult even at his 80 years old. imagine the rest.

I can't see any problem with sons and daughters living at home, I have three daughters and we are always delighted to see them. All our daughters are very independent successful women within their own professions, all are financially independent from their husbands. The reason they come home is to relax and chill out, I should imagine the reason for the younger generation living at home, is to save to set themselves up in their own apartments. A reasonable one bedroom apartment in the area I live in London would cost £180,000 plus. So the young person would require a £40,000 deposit in to-days market. When I left home I was sixteen when I bought my first house, my monthly mortgage was half my monthly salary, so it was never easy.

i know some girls sitting at homes of their fathers. they are very skillfuls, but, there is no department in schools or universities for their skills. now, all they doing is to clean the house.. so, schools are not enough to show their skills of people. note that these words are words of one who worked at universities as an academican in past..

Just a little interesting thing I noticed.
When I taught English, the "typical family" consisted of four people: mother, father, son and daughter.
When I was learning Spanish the "typical family" consisted of ten + people: mother, fathers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, grandparents etc...

It appears that English speaking families are the ''odd ones out'' with our nuclear families, not the other way round.

my suggestion is that.. most of parents have enough capitals to buy another house. no, they should not give an house to their sons, but, to their daughters. so, daughter will be safe enough by keeping capital/house on her name and due to this, she will have independency to his bf/husband and she can chose a guy who will work and bring money to the house if she wants to have a baby.. this way, girls won't have to force themselves to work at difficult works and guys wont think about collecting much money to buy house before flying out of the nest of their parents. fathers of girls, you hearing this? time has changed, economy of world in disaster unlike your days when you were making easy money due to less population.
