Polish citizens getting a passport and actually making it in US ?

Hi everyone, I've met a girl in Warsaw. I live in Wisconsin. She wants to come visit me this summer about July. I am just curious, i've heard some bad things about Polish citizens getting a passport and actually making it in US Can anyone help me out with this? This is really important were really hoping to make this relationship work. Thanks for any help. By the way i'm a legal US citizen and have been my whole life. if that matters any.

Nobody can help you, we can only advise, she needs to obtain a B1 visa from the US Embassy in Warsaw. This visa is valid for 10 years and will allow her to stay in the US for any six months a year. Apparently the refusal rate is quite high, although i dont know the actual figures, she needs a valid reason to visit and it really does depend on the immigration officer whos interviewing her.

A tourist visa is for sure no problem to get.

Ok thank you for the help. Is there anyway to increase the chances of her getting this visa? Maybe if i right a letter and she can present to them? Just curious why the B1? isn't that a business visa? Thanks again.

Thats a good idea, be honest, don't forget to include your passport number etc.. and explain that she will be staying with you. The down side is that they may suspect shes just looking for a way in, she will have to convince them otherwise.

Everything she needs to know is here

If you qualify for a visa you must leave your passport at the Consular Section for visa printing. The consul will give you a DHL tracking number receipt with information about the passport delivery. Your passport will be delivered to the address you submitted on the DHL form in five business days through the DHL Express Courier Service. On delivery the applicant must pay the service fee of 23 PLN.

I think she needs a DHL form, in any case its all on the web site so check that out thoroughly.

She will be applying for a

B-1/B-2 Temporary visitor for business or pleasure.

Thank you for the links Wroclaw Boy. They were really helpful for us. @convex she is a student at university in Warsaw. She lives in an Apartment paid for by her parents in Warsaw. She's lived there for about 1 year. She was born in Poland and lived there her whole life, same with her parents.

let them know that, like plk mentioned, they're looking for a reason that she would go back to Poland. A rental contract and another year or two of school would help establish that.

@convex Thank you that makes alot of sense. Her whole family is in Poland plus she has 4 years of school left. I will make sure we include that.

@grubas I am trying to say i've heard bad stories about Poles trying to get into US.. I've even heard horror stories about Poles getting deported after making to the US. I would hate to have this happen to her. Sorry I misspoke i meant to say i am legally a US citizen. As opposed to being an illegal immigrant. And listen you don't have to be a prick about things. It was a mistake everyone makes them.

Look dude the thing is that there is no such thing as an illegal citizen.If you are a citizen that means you are legall.Now as for immigrants,they can be legall or not legall RESIDENTS.Plain and simple.

Interesting stories you guys have there in the sticks.Send her $140 and you will quickly find out if she get a visa.Now as for deportation her chances of being deported are like 0.01%.
