are polish girls more sexually liberated now than in the past as poland was a very catholic country with strict values before?.i have also heard that prostitutes are widespread in poland,how true is this or is it just another myth about poles?

I'm sure they are more sexually liberated than their parents or grandparents. But note - fortunately - Poland still is a very catholic country; that's where's lays it's strength and beauty. Without strict and catholic values there would be nothing to desire; Polish women having values are more desirable.

Regarding prostitutes, it is only partially true. Most foreigners do not recognize the difference between the Russian and Polish language; and there are many prostitutes or "easy girls" looking to get married to get European citizenship coming from the former Russia to Warsaw and they tend to think those prostitutes are exclusively from Poland. Warsaw is a big city where for money you can find and do whatever you want, including finding a prostitute. But in other parts of Poland prostitution is not so widely spread at all, so it depends whom you ask and what that person was looking for in Poland. If that person visited Warsaw only, he or she may not know the general idea what Poland and Polish girls are really like.

yes i think that maybe you are right.i know many polish girls just having arrived in my country(ireland) and they are all nice girls with a very good background and good work ethic but have many problems because a lot of men think they are easy for sex .they think that they are from a poor country and will do anything for money.

Yep, men may think they are easy for sex, but in fact they are not (again - see my message above re: Russian girls in Warsaw area). Most of them have college degrees and I can only imagine how these men looking for easy fun make a fool of themselves :).

Marcin, I think you are completely right in your comment on this topic. Our eastern neighbors continuously supply us (and many others) with desperate girls which ruin our reputation because most people can't discern between a Polish and a Russian woman by her physical traits. More then that, the ethical/religious atmosphere in Poland is completely different then anywhere behind the eastern border. In Russia prostitution and prnography is rampant (top in the world), what is in Poland is nothing compared to that (yes, probably because of the religious values, but also lack of history of such behaviour and social pressure). Unfortunately, other Europeans still equate Poland with Russia, although we are way ahead of them, after all we're in the EU and they are not.

I am planning to take a trip to Turkey and I was warned that I might be taken for a prostitute because I can be easily confused with a Russian/Ukrainian girl...

I do realize though that the situation abroad might be slightly different, many Polish people might desperately try to get a job in the UK or Germany and sometimes they think that prostitution is their way to liberation.

This kind of social lumping is a problem for many nations, Polish people are confused with Russians (or Ukrainians); Japanese/Korean/Taiwanese are confused with Chinese; Turkish are confused with Arabs.... etc. etc. All these stereotypes cause lots of anger and confusion. And think about it, is a Japanese person or culture similar Chinese? Or can you judge Japanese people based on what you know about China? Of course not, that couldn't be more different then comparing a Japanese person to someone from Spain.

Yep - and what I notice may be even a bigger problem; there are many compenies or individuals who advertise thay they look for Polish girls to work in "a cafe" or "in a pub". I think most of these jobs have something to do with working as a call girl - even though the advertisers "swear" it's not true. Another problem, as the Guests noted, is that some people don't really know if the girl is from Poland or Russia or another Slavic country.

hi stranger,not for long i hope:)its me martin.ihave recently come back from the greek islands and there are alot of eastern european prostitutes working there for the summer season ,and it is very diffucult to tell russian and polish girls apart if you are not familar with each nation . i am lucky enough that i know alot of polish people and there are very big differences between the two peoples.

i think that the problem with pubs advertising is that most of these places are lap dancing clubs ,especially in bigger cities.

I'm not trying to defend Russian or Polish girls as I know there are some who WILL work as prostitutes (that's life...); it's just I don't like the idea of another stereotype attached to Polish women or nation (that they are easy girls or something)... I think some of them are (like in every nation), but the vast majority aren't. and most of them just try to make money - and the fact they may work in a kitchen or a bar doesn't make them "easy" for guys who have more money.

Yes, I agree. Also, IF I was to tell you about "Irish stereotypes" - I know they... like Poles and vice versa :). They even buy Polish soccer players.. :}I'm not sure if this is because both nations like to drink sometimes or maybe because one part of Ireland is catholic.

I'm a typical Polish guy I think. I mean, I'm more intellectual; have always liked to learn in contrast to most of my peers :). And I'm lucky to have a Polish wife :).

I am from Ireland and know lots of Polish people here. History is very similar. Polish girls here are nice but like everywhere else we get all sorts. I do not think people here think polish girls are easy. Was amazed at Warsaw lap dancing clubs etc. The other parts I was in seem much more conservative.
