We all know in our hearts how people are in general. If someone isn't in love with a person she/he is with, usually he/she will look around consciously or unconsciously for someone they'll like more. This goes both for men and women.

They are not all jealous at all, southern. My wife, God Bless her, allows me to have female students round at the flat as she knows nothing will come of it. It's money for us and most Polish girls will not try something. I finished a lesson 15 minutes ago and she told me that infidelity is one of the worst sins. I agree fully!!

Suspicion stems from insecurity and a lack of trust!

So why try to find the answer on a forum, this is not a cultural issue, it is personal, if your GF is jealous ask her "why" I am married to a Pole and have never experienced any form of jealousy from my wife, in fact she gives me so much freedom and trust, that I would be a complete fool to spoil the situation we have. So I can assure you jealousy, is not a polish cultural thing, unless you listen to southern of course, then all women are no good inclusive of his mother.

My student said it and my wife fully believes it too. Neither are particularly religious, just moral. You have to behave yourself. All it needs is one stupid move and you have made a bad name for yourself so I don't understand guys that even try it. A wedding ring really does hammer it home how important fidelity is. The days of playing around have to be enjoyed when you have them as marriage is a different ballgame.

I still don't see southern's point completely though I might be able to understand it. Polish guys have libidos like any other and Polish women know that there are quite a few pretty ones around that could go for them and vice versa. My friend's GF is very jealous and has him on a leash, LOL. They are married now so that should lower the level but who knows?

Hardly talk about it for long, Zeti. It's more the case that we understand that our partners are comfortable with the arrangement and move on. Maybe you launch straight in with strangers but I don't.

Nah, just laying down positions and getting things straight :) I don't really look too much into it but there is a different dynamic when teaching a female student 1-2-1 at your flat so it's best to allay fears. I mean, we hardly even know each other. I appeared as a guest speaker in her gimnazjum class as a favour and she was happy with that. She wants speaking practice and that's that.

Yeah, I did a class for her as a native speaker :) I've taught gimnazjum students before and she was happy with what she saw.

Maybe it has to do with the reputation of some English teachers. They have abused their position in the past and I don't want to be tarred with the same brush as them.

I've heard of natives looking for more than just teaching when 1-2-1. Let's just say there is a warm up and warm down in the lesson ;)
