Polish guy filting with me, help me understand what is going on here

right people i need help,theres this polish guy at work and for months naw he has been blatantly flirting with me at work even coming into my department when he is somtimes working in another to flert with me so i told a mutual friend to tell him to get his finger out coz i got sick of waitng for him to ask me out and he said he isnot interested but when i'm not there he is asking where i'am and a girl told him to ask me for my number he said (she wont give it to me) so i dont no what to do

if this guy is shy why is he flirting with me infront of everybody anyway hum men are strange somtimes and he ask's people to swop jobs with him so he can work with me and trys to help me all the time and nobody else? hope my spelling is better on this post coz my mate has just got me another drink for crying out loud

Well, flirting infront of everyone else isn't too personal, because there's basically no real sense of intimacy between you and him. (You know, personal talk.) Helping you out isn't exactly flirting though, but it's definitely a signal.
