Polish man, Jewish wife...Perception?

How would Polish close friends, family, etc, view a Polish man who married a Jewish woman in America?
What kind of rumors, responses, and concerns would be expected, if any?

Do you mean Radek Sikorski? :):):):)

No problem whatsoever. Poles married Jewish women long ago.

Or maybe that he'd have to convert from Polish fare to kosher and run around his flat with a Jewish hat shouting shalom all the while ;) ;)

Come on what? What do you mean? I was joking, pawian. I mean, the OP is writing as if Jews are from another planet. For me, it really is incidental if you are Jewish, Arab or anything else.

haha
I know quite a few Jews, some of them Polish, and they all eat pork. I always ask them about kosher foods, they respond with gibberish:)

As for OPs question, I don't think the guy will get much negative perception from others. He might have to convert to judaism though to satisfy her side of the family and the jewish community/rabbi. I'm sure he'll find a good job soon, if he doesn't already have one.

The Mossad is watching you so be careful what you write ;) In America? I expect no issues there between a Pole and a Jew. Maybe she likes the 'hide the sausage' game :)

Polish man, Jewish wife...Perception?

i don`t understand this question

What is all about? About Polish woman who is of Jewish religion and she is married to an ethnic Pole who could be, for example- Catholic?

Well, if that`s the case, they are both ethnic Poles. That`s my perception.

Religion has indoctrinated many but you see what happens when people break from the mould. Why should so many people deny themselves sth that their holy book says is bad? I appreciate why but can't they see the contradictions in the holy books anyway?

I hate how Jews are stigmatised. I often get the impression people believe them to be filthy. People are people. If you like them, great. If not, so be it.

Mixed ethnic marriages are pretty common in the States. Let's just say that it wouldn't be socially acceptable to complain about the choice of spouses.

Well, hand on heart, we Serbians are advanced, reasonable people, true native Europeans. We respect logic

My best friend's cousin, a Polish man, just married a Jewish girl in New York. The family's thoughts were mixed but once they met her they liked her. Supposedly they love each other, good for them.

Agreed! Judaism is the only major religion that doesn't proselytize. I like that.

Which is impossible due to the humility of not attempting to define God. Though I find it a little corny when I see God written as G_d. The Kosher bakeries in N London make the very best cakes. I like that.

My sis did the exact opposite. None of my family members have ever disapproved of her choice.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Well, no Buddhist ever banged on my door. Jews don't proselytize but they do sure as hell brag a lot.
