Native Poles have said that the man is the head of the family, but the woman is the neck, and the neck turns the head. If women weren't domiannt, the whole palce would fall apart due to hubby's penchant for booze and general irresponsibility. One Polish riddle goes: What is the difference betwdeen a male and wine? Answer: Eventually wine matures.

So it would appear :) :) When it comes to making decisions, there is a noticeable schism. Some, like my wife, are very decisive and make things happen. Others are floaters that drift with the breeze. So, there is variation just like most other nations. I very rarely saw a show of assertiveness in Japan but a select few had the harder Western temperament.

What does it mean, many Polki? How many is many? Those that frequent special clubs maybe but not your average run-of-the-mill girl, that's for sure.

Same reality, different meanings, it can be interpreted in many ways ;)

In Balkans we don't use any similar phrase when we want somebody out.

Non verbal communication usually solves the problem.:)

Well, talking about back door entry in his meaning is rather personal. The Poles tend not to discuss sexual issues that much but Balkan folk more so.

It could just be that it doesn't pop up as a topic in discussions that I have. Nothing quite like a submissive aspect to a woman :)

Most women know instinctively what their man's ego is fragile about. They navigate it like a mine filed. They slowly work on what they want, sometimes with the man not even realizing that he's being manipulated. They know to defer to the submissive role around his buddies or coworkers, but they also know how to tell him what they're "worried about" - when he's feeling most manly and protective. Is that dominant or submissive?
As far as sexual roles of dominance and submission, women that like to play (not just because he wants them to), can usually play both. That's because many powerful women, after taking care of everything and everybody all day long, find it exciting and liberating to have someone else take over and make all the decisions for them. But if the guy does not know what he's doing, she can probably teach him..

Orthodoxy + communism/socialism (I think there is some correlation between those two, not so independent factors)

I'm sorry... I'm on one of the extremes, not true representative of a Serbian women, I tend to be significantly less inhibited than average , psychology influence. We are godless (psychologists).

Quite a few Serbian women 'looked like' dominant types when I was there but that says little as to the truth. The harshness of some Polish women may make them come across as being dominant but quite a few have a soft inner core.

How do you relate inhibition with domination? I didn't understand that.

After all , I think Slavic world shares similar ideas about male/female roles.

Maybe Balkan women incline more to the submissive role than the rest (polish, russian...)

As a Polish woman born and bred (living in Canada now) id have to agree that yes while we are bossy and dominant a lot in relationships , when it comes to sex I personally am submissive and like to be manhandled. Nothing wrong with that is there??
