Polish women world's second most flirtatious

Polish women are the second-most flirtatious in the world, according to a study by social networking site Badoo.

Polish women come second only to Spanish women in a ranking of those most likely to initiate contact with a man, suggests a study of 90 million romantic contacts made over the course of a month on Badoo.

Spanish women, who on average made 1.33 contacts in a month, were followed by Poles, then by women from the Dominican Republic, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Portugal.

Canada, in eighth position, was the top English-speaking country in the ranking, while Venezuela closed off the top ten.

Germany came in 12th, Britain 14th, France 17th and the US second-last in the ranking of the top-20 nationalities of flirtatious women.

Nevertheless, men are still far more likely than women – whatever their nationality – to make the first move, according to Badoo, which boasts more than 80 million registered users.

"But we wanted to know whether women in some countries were more likely to take the lead than those in others – and what this said about those societies," Badoo's marketing director Lloyd Price told AFP.

OK, to make a long story short: a smile for Poles is not so much the matter of a social convention. Therefore in Poland you see less smiles, but if you see one, the chance is bigger that it's genuine.
