I am a Polish girl having a relationship with a Kurdish man, I just wondered if there are any other people who have had experiences with Kurdish men and what your experiences have been?

I am in England, as far as I am as aware he is allowed to stay here but I spoke to somebody else who said that they just use Polish girls and they would never marry them.

He's Kurdish chances are that he came as an assylum seeker, so ask him directly what his status is, but I wouldn't expect to get a straight or true answer, regarding the not wanting to marry Polish girls, I'd say the opposite, but in a lot of cases, not for the right reasons, this is where it is important to fine out what his status in the UK is.

Polish girls are an easy target for these men, English women wont touch them. Kurdish men don't come with the best reputation, but Im sure there is the odd one who is smart and decent with honorable intentions.

My friend was seeing a kurdish man and when it was over all his friends were trying to get with her so I am worried they are just users.

Clannish mentality and no respect for women, honor killings are quite common in Kurdish areas of Turkey and there are plenty of them languishing in English jails for rape - need I go on?

Some groups have little or no respect for women, some groups of men see white women are fair game for fcuking and nothing more, some see it as kudos for having a white woman, you know "trophy" - from what I understand they are slightly more respectful if they want marriage for the sake of staying in a country.

You are the one dating him..so only you know him as a person, how he treats you and what his intentions are.

Hinterland, I am Turkish, information that Shelley has provided is unfortunately true. It's education problem and it's slowly changing but it's still better to be cautious.

Also your boyfriend may be different from the above examples. Try to understand what he likes on you and if he is serious about this relationship. Try to test him. His education and behaviours should give you an idea. And you must be cautious before fully trust him.

I recently watched a prog which said the opposite, whilst the Turkish government is fighting it and now men are actually punished for their crimes, they have a new method, whereby they tell the girl to commit suicide or get a younger member of the family to commit the murder because he will get a shorter sentense :0(

I prefer the whole package and someone who is culturally similar - people that clamber through the chanel tunnel and hide in the back of lorries so they can claim assylum here in the UK are not the kind of men I'd take home for dinner at my parents. Bloody awfull wasnt it,those poor girls. As people Ive found the kurdish lads I know in Donny to be realy nice and friendly,that doesnt mean Im blind to their stone age attitude to women.
Maybe in a generation or 2 these attitudes will change but I doubt it,you are entering a clan sociaty if you choose to stay with a kurd.The chances are you will not marry him,or,more likely,he is already married,probably has been since about 15 and has some poor wife living in a mud hut in kurdistan or turkey....
