Hinterland: yes please do. Leave him! It may sound harsh but ask yourself why are you on this forum looking for advice, there must be something wrong with the Danish state. If you have doubts in this case they are most likely justified. It's different mentality and customs can you imagine life in Iraq? Maybe you could live in Poland - maybe! The final decision is your but if you will marry him it will be hard. Are you ready ?

Find out as much as you can about him and his culture. Be open-minded but realistic. Try to get information from objective and neutral sources. (Of course he will try to only show you the good sides.) When you get the whole picture you can decide what is best for you. I'm sure there are good Kurdish men. But there might be people in his family which have values that is going to give you much trouble in life. Woman are often treated in a way that we in the Western world would never accept.

H' You are obviously having doubts about this man or you would not feel the need to ask questions. My advice,go with your instincts,if they are telling you something is not quite right follow them. We know how it goes here in the UK. When the Kurds first arrived there was a spate of very handsome kurdish lads getting married to ,well, pig ugly local women,geuss what,as soon as their papers came through the woman once more found herself alone. The local british population quickly wised up and saw past the gleeming smiles and sweet talking and saw it for what it was. Unfortunatly here in Donny it seems it is taking the polish girls a little longer to come to their senses. This is not a race thing,or a religion thing,although the latter does play some part,it is purely a culture issue on the side of the Kurds.Really,they may have all the trappings of the 21st century but in their mind they live somewhere in the 14th and you,a mere woman are no more important than a goat,unless it comes to you "bringing shame"on his clan/family/tribe etc by daring to have an opinion or maybe showing an ankle.Yes of course they love it now seeing you in a mini skirt and probably dressing like a cheap slapper( I have seen plenty of Polish girls looking like prostitutes on the arm of kurds) but if their sister or wife dressed that way she would be dead.

Inderland, maybe you should rather look out for Kurdishforum.com ? What can Polish people tell you about this? You're weird. Apart from that, Kurds are a very old indo-european nation with long history and culture. But personally, I would not enter a relation with a muslim, because I'm catholic and it's a clinch.

First of all i just woud say that i didnt read all ur posts... One of the best friends my parents is people (Kurdish man married with Polish woman). They are married from 15 years. They are happy. Have 2 childrens. She has own office n is boss for herself. He is teacher. Very nice people.. Generaly its no sens to talk how r Kurdish people cos it depend they are Kurdish from Turkey,Iraq or Syria. Kurdish are not all the same,I can say friend of my parents its totally more like Arab than Kurdish.

I met a Polish/Kurdish couple (Polish girl and a Kurdish man) once at a party when I was at the university. The guy seemed to be nice (I don't know if he was from Turkey, Iraq or Syria) until the incident that I witnessed: our host had a dog (a nice cuddly labrador pup) and everyone at the party loved it, the girl that was with the Kurd touched the pup and after some time she toched the hand of her boyfried, telling him something... and now comes the shocking part... the Kurdish guy just slapped her in the face! SLAPPED HER IN THE FACE just like that (she later explained to us that it was because the dog is considered "impure" in islam, or something like that, and that she shouldn't touch her boyfriend after touching the dog). The Polish lads at the party wanted to kick the wnker's arse but the girl started crying and defending him, so he got away with it. I don't know if all Kurdish men are like the wankr described above (hopefuly not) but to hit a woman over something stupid like that, or in fact to hit a woman at all is a feckin scumbag thing to do.

Interesting to see that people are judging someone who they don't know anything at all about. It can't be that bad that all Turks or Kurds are assh*les. In all countries there are at least some good persons, even a 10-year-old can figure that out.
