A woman who was allegedly Tasered, bound, gagged and buried alive in a cardboard box by her boyfriend after their relationship ended has told a jury of how she was sure he was going to kill her.

Michelina Lewandowska, 27, told Leeds crown court that she was in the box for around an hour in total before she was able to free herself and that she was convinced she would die.

During the incident in May this year, her former partner Marcin Kasprzak, 25, used a Taser on her and recruited his friend to help, the court heard. The prosecution claims Kasprzak placed her in the box after Tasering her, gagging her and binding her hands and feet with tape. He then is alleged to have buried the box in a shallow grave and placed a tree branch on it.

Giving evidence on Wednesday, Lewandowska told the court: "I am sure that he was going to kill me."

Julian Goose QC, for Kasprzak, suggested to her that his client had only ever intended to scare her and reminded her that the box she was put in had two hand holes through which she could breathe. Lewandowska said: "I can tell you now that they were not left especially or intentionally for me to live."

Kasprzak is on trial with another man, Patryk Borys, 18, charged with attempted murder.

Prosecutors have told the court that Kasprzak attacked Lewandowska because their relationship had come to an end and he wanted custody of their three-year-old son, Jakub.

The trial has previously heard how she prayed to God as she struggled to get out and used her engagement ring to free herself. Once she had managed to escape, she flagged down a passing motorist, the court heard.

The prosecution said: "In a nutshell, this case is about a young man who got bored with his partner, the mother of his child, and he decided to get rid of her."

Kasprak and Borys, both Polish nationals from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, deny attempted murder.

As a general rule of thumb, if you're going to bury someone alive, it's a good idea to put them in a deep hole and cover it. Rather like the other Polsh girl who was buried alive in Scotland.

Merged: Michelina Lewandowska buried alive by her boyfriend

Michalina and Marcin A. Kasprzak from Poland met in 2005, they move to Penistone Road, Waterloo in Huddersfield, England because of their jobs, in 2008 they welcomed their son Jakub nos age three , but Marcin grew tired of Ms. Lewandowska, he wanted to be single and see other women, in fact he was having a relationship behind Michalina’s back, in his mind the only thing between him and his freedom was her, so he planned something cruel to get rid of her and live the life he wanted with his friends, girlfriend and his son.

What happened to 27 year-old Michalina Lewandowska in May 28th, sound like taken from a movie, she was shot twice in her neck with a 300 volt Taser gun by her boyfriend Marcin Karprzak because he was tired of her and didn’t found pretty anymore, so to get rid of her he took her body bounded by the wrists and ankles.

Marcin 25 and her 18 year-old friend Patryk Borys from Rashcliffe Hill Road, Lockwood put her in a computer carton box and drove to a wooden area near Huddersfield, where the dug a hole big enough to buried her, they put branches on top of it. They left her there in the middle of the night, drove to a supermarket and took money from her credit, they were spotted in a CCTV at about 11:00 a.m .

In the meantime and while they believed Michalina was unconscious and soon dead by the lack of oxygen, but all the contraire she was terrified but decided to live, so she fought her way out of her grave and managed to et to the road where a little before twelve a motorist saw her and help her.

The court has now sentenced the guy.

Marcin Kasprzak, 26, attacked Michelina Lewandowska with a Taser, bound and gagged her and buried her under soil, leaves and an 88lb tree branch in woodland near their home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Miss Lewandowska, 27, escaped from the box after around an hour by using her engagement ring to cut herself free.
Judge Collier said that Kasprzak, who is Polish, "became unhappy" with fellow Pole Miss Lewandowska and wanted their three-year-old son, Jakub, who he thought was not being treated properly by his mother.
He said: "The problem you faced was that she would not go willingly and leave your child with you and your mother.
"So it was that you formed a plan to get rid of her."

It will be interesting to see how the Polish Court handles this one when he applies to transfer to a Polish jail.

It would be changed as we don`t have a penalty of 20 years of improsonment in Polish Penal Code . They could get a penalty of 8-15 or 25 or life imprisonment according to the Polish Penal Code . Judging from the circumstances and the fact that Polish courts treat criminals in a very lenient way ,most probably , they would be sentenced to 8-10 years of imprisonment . So I would strongly recommend to apply for serving the penalty within the Polish penitentiary system .

BTW they showed no remorses during the announcement of the sentence , then I would give them max .

They Should be sentenced to death. After 20 years in prison they will become fully fledged criminals - what would be the point in setting them loose?
An immoral and imbecilic pair of lazy slobs.

I agree with you Ironside, but I think a guy who gets sentenced for burying a woman alive is already as fully fledged as criminals get.

What is he going to graduate to? Bathing newborn babies in acid?
