Hi! My name is Joana and I'm from Portugal.. I'm thinking on doing erasmus in Poland (more specifically Lodz University) and I wanted to know a little more about the country, the city and the people living in it. so, if anyone is interested in "teaching" a portuguese girl something about your beautiful country, just let me know

Well, i'm studying translation so that's the kind of thing i'm trying to learn in Poland. At my university here my teachers told me that Lodz University was the best in your country for it...
But why do you say that? is there something I should know about it?
Thanks *

You might want to consider Wroclaw University (Uniwersytet Wroclawski). It's an excellent school. You can get info on it on Google or Google po polsku.

Joana - Portugal girls are always welcome in Poland. Come here and stay a while. You have to know that everyone in Poland is a racist Big Cyc wrote song about it "Makumba":

Polacy rasi¶ci każdy to powie - i nikt tutaj nie lubić czarny człowiek!

The Poles are racists, everyone knows it - and no-one likes black peoples.

Don't take this seriously

Babylon, I heard this song when I went to Poland some time ago. I was totally surprised by the words, but the song was funny. A farce, I suppose or a kind of a rap song with bad words...

This song is just great, my statement about Poles are racists is the same as Big Cyc - it's just a STEREOTYPE. This song shows great how Polish people look in foreigner eyes and what is not really true. I hope that Portugal friend will understand that is only a joke of mine about Polish = Racists cuz Poles really like Foreigners to come to Poland, so She is welcome to PL.

thanks for saying that i'm welcome to poand!
the song really is funny.. at least what i've understand of it from my bad bad polish
I agree when you say it is a stereotype because i've met some polish students here (which became my friends) and they don't seem racist at all! on the contrary... they showed much more hospitality when i said i was going there than a portuguese would!

Although I think there are quite a few Portuguese living in the area or close to it.
