Hello,
I'm trying to learn the Polish language and what I find difficult is that the same word has different spellings and meanings. For example the word able in English has one spelling. But in polish it could be spelled many different ways. Am I missing something and is there an easier way? Thanks everyone

POLISH ENGLISH
zdołać able
zdolny do able
zdolny able

For exe.
1. On jest zdolny. He ist able
2. Ona jest zdolna. She ist able.
3. My jesteśmy zdolni. We are able
4. Oni są zdolni. They are able.
5. Ja jestem zdolna. I'm able

A tak po polskiemu to powinno być poprawnie: uzdolnieni:)
W polskim odmieniasz przymiotniki , w angielskim nie odmieniasz.

zdołać and zdolny are 2 different words.

*zdołać means to manage (to do something)

zdolny can be used in 2 ways.

*zdolny do (czegoś) - abel to (do something)

*(ktoś jest) zdolny - (somebody is) clever/skilled.

Ok, thanks for the clarification everyone. I wish these *dictionaries* online would make that distinction. Perhaps it's just me...

That is interesting, I never knew that the word zdolny came from the verb zdolac.
