Seeking a basic intro to the Polish Language

Cześć this is my first post.
Is there somewhere on this forum or anywhere on the web where there is a ' plain as toast' laid out display of basic Polish learning (ex. Letters, Numbers, Date, Nature, common verbs, pronunciation, and basic grammar). I've been searching, and it's hard to find a good starter. The schools near me don't teach Polish (I don't know why), only popular Western and basic Eastern languages.

I speak English[live in USA], Korean [(Asian) 2nd language] and some Spanish[Language from High School].

I am currently studying Italian [(close to Latin) because of opera] and German [(close to English) because of business] and 'Java' [(computer language) yes, I like to organize].

I posted the language that I am interested or have knowledge in because I wanted to know if knowing or studying these will interfere with my study of Polish??

I have a great interest in languages, and Polish is one of the languages I have a special desire to learn for many reasons. However, the language is nowhere near what I'm used to or can recognize (I think it is of Slavic?/Slavonic? origin). I will need the most basic introduction. Please help.

First lessons are free, you hear the pronounciation and writing. I'm studying Swedish (next to my knowledge of English, Polish, French and Russian) and I highly recommend it for self-starters.

However, that service seems to only provide definitions for words or phrases, not really how they work. However (yet again), it gives me audio pronunciation which is wonderful and it also utilizes the flash card learn remember system, which I think will be very useful.

If there is anything else, please tell me.

By the way, I have looked at the university's website on polish. It is great, but not exactly in the criteria I'm looking for. Anyways, please comment more.

I think if you're looking to learn Polish fast then those other languages might interfere with your Polish....I would concentrate on Polish for a while and when you feel comfortable with imperfective/perfective verbs, declension, have some vocabulary then you should continue with your other languages

Other languages do interfere a lot ,i know Norwegian(of course :P) ,English ,German ,a little french and more and more Polish.
But Polish is very difficult when i have 3 different grammars in my head from before :)

Is French grammar more or less difficult than Polish grammar ? :)

Why would anyone learn Polish? It's a dying language that steals from Russian and English and all Poles will soon leave that poor country and emigrate to clean the toilets because they say it's better paid.
Learn Russian instead or Czech. Prague is a lovely city and very popular with foreign investors and Russian have a great culture (literature) and Poland only drunk singers dying prematurely, and at my home we don't listen to their music anyway, even my Polish wife doesn't like it.


(I couldn't resist - it's a game imitating other Polish forums posters, it's blatant who was in my mind, at least for those who have been around here for at least 2 weeks or so)

LoL ;) Krakow is pretty too, and Doda isn't drunk...and investors prefer Poland to Russia and even Czechs ;)

Czech is not as widely spoken a language as Polish, so i'm pretty sure that Polish is a more useful language

i am learning polish via a cd listening at work and wilst traveling and in the last two weeks i have picked up a lot of words and phrases and the law's on the nouns, ect: so i feel it's good for me it may be good for you too.
