Yep, you'll pay more for an international text message. There are a number of firms offering PC to mobile SMS facilities but they usually charge you for a 'bundle' of texts.

If you download and install gadu gadu, do a search if you dont speak Polish, as on the forum there are instructions on how to install there. When you have installed it you can send free sms's from there for free. post polishforums.com/translations_gadu_gadu-10_6710_0.html

Gadu Gadu download site gadu-gadu.pl/

You could also download skype and send sms to Poland for 6 cents and talk for 24 cents per minute when calling a mobile....believe it's cheaper when calling to a landline.

>> wow!! how cheap are you??

$0.25 for an international sms is cheap. In Canada, sms's are $0.10-0.25 too end in the country

i bet you don't bat an eye at spending $4 on a coffee at Starbucks

It depends on the provider in PL. I always use sms.orange.pl
to send an sms from my computer and it's completely free.

why don;t you check if the recipients company offers web based SMS portal. I used that before and it's free.
