What we need is a new investigation. There never was proof who was actually behind 9/11. Some say it is cartel and money people that planned this whole thing.
There probably is a lot we aren't being told and I don't trust Washington for one second.

PS....................next time PJ try feeding your hamster. :P

Is there anyone who still gives a sh!t about workers who worked without proper protection at ground zero, and are still waiting for compensation?
How about EPA controversy?

I think we should remember all the people who gave their lives. Both instantly (in the collapse) as well as after the event (firemen and policemen) because they were let down by their government.

Please don't stick stars and stripes into 9/11 because it's not about "uniting as a nation" it's not about "patriotism" (please do notice the quotes). It's about a tragedy of thousands of families who have lost someone. Same goes for the July bombings in London and the March bombings in Spain.
It's also not a "who lost more" contest, so don't throw statistics at me.

Well said! And maybe take a minute to think about those 655,000 Iraqis killed since invasion.

Where in my quote did I suggest not to do that?

Makdaam:

I didnt do that either

..or suggest this.

Thanks for clarifying.

Why did you quote me when you're blatantly just having a conversation with some imaginary friend/foe? You're on you high horse talking self righteous shite. Its not a good look.

Do you actually think those who died did not consider themselves American?
You have no idea how cold and heartless your comment sounds.

I think you're trying to read into this too much. He said good bless the people...not just America as a whole.

Two entirely different situations.

9-11 and the bombings in London and Spain were the work of Islamic terrorists willing to take their own lives and that of innocent people to prove what? Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance?

Iraq is the work of an incompetent president.

well said SS

when remembering the innocents who have died in this heinous conflic it is essential to remember that they have died on both sides

i personally put no more value to the innocent lives taken in 9/11 than those innocent lives taken in iraq and afghanistan

which i imagine some of you will have a problem with

in fact it seems a lot of people would have more sympathy with america's losses if americans took a few more minutes out to remember their role in the suffering of this conflict

i imagine some of you will have a problem with that too

More like decades of self-interest and greed, not just Bush. Saddam Hussein was originally installed by the CIA and MI6 in order to contain (kill) the Iraqi president who nationalized the country's oil. This didn't sit well with US and British strategy for controlling Mideast oil reserves. This by the way is an old pattern, history keeps repeating itself....and by the way, the poison gas he supposedly used to gas the Kurds was sold to him by the British, or so the rumor goes.

I think you have Iran confused with Iraq. The CIA was very involved with the overthrow of the freely elected premier of Iran and the installation of the Shah because of the premier's plan to nationalize their oil.

I thought the Brits operated freely with Iraq. Am I wrong?

9/11/01 was a stunning wake-up call to all Americans. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them are, once again, sound asleep. What a pity. It's no wonder to me how so many people in the world can have negative feelings towards America and Americans - I can't say as I blame them. I'm not all that proud of us myself, to tell you the truth.
I live within 90 minutes' drive to ground zero. I had many friends working downtown that day. To my knowledge, none of them were killed or injured. But I've seen the affect that the event has had on them, and I know they'll never be fully recovered from it.

Those alive victims are also the victims of a tragedy, and they don't get spot light as it doesn't involve flash lights, politicians, flag waving crowd, and they are less iconic as a media image than flags and granite monuments. They are informed by the bigwigs not to focus on social needs that'd subtract from corporate and government purses.

Yeah but they're alive. Dont you think that 3000 dead civilians at least deserve getting a thread to themselves on a message board without every tom, dick and harry trying to refocus the attention on something else?

The lack of respect is fuking staggering to me.

Grzegorz_:

do you really believe Oswald was the lone gunman? besides, the existence of so-called false flag ops is a historical fact, so since when are these so-called conspiracy theories so far fetched?

the title of this thread suggests it is about sep. 11, not only about the memory of those who killed. also relevant is the fact that quite a few of the relatives/spouses of those killed are convinced that the govt is covering up something big. perhaps you get staggered too easily.
