In Poland whats the requirement to go serve in the Polish army? Do all males HAVE to serve in the army? Is there any way of not serving? If you have to serve how long is it for?

One of the ways to avoid army is to be a student( that's what my cousin did, he attended to schools for many years till he was 29 I think. or to give them a prove of disability from the doctors. You need to serve 1 year i believe.

No. You can be a normal student.

Umm, try not staying in College, or highschool for that matter, for too long. Graduating is a good thing

Hey I was wondering if anyone could answer me this Q..

Recently my boyfriend of 5 months moved back to Poland because he had to go in thearmy, but he's 19 nearly 20 and I'd read that it's when you're 18 when you have to go? So honestly i don't know what's going on with it xx

The service in the army is NOT mandatory. For those not willing to do it alternative service is offered in form of community work. Also nowadays not that many boys are taken to the army so in fact only those willing to go are drafted and thera are enough of them so others are not bothered and let go loose for diferent reasons.

You are wrong. The service was reduced to only 9 months, so they need more people and they take now those born in late 80's - post baby boom (wyż demograficzny) so there is fewer, that's why now they take everyone, who has both legs and arms and isn't a student.

You ppl are in Poland... asking these questions? Or abroad?

No reason that you MUST join the army in here. It cannot be forced upon you.
