well, yeah, at first it used to be associated with skinheads, later on things changed and a shaved head became the trademark of gangs made of brainless dudes who spend life at a body building centre and never wear anything else than sportswear. so yes, it is easily associated with the word criminal (shaved empty head and sportswear)
on the other hand, plenty of guys in Poland shave their heads, for comfort, simply, so if you happen to see a shaved head, you might be looking at a student :)

some people shave their head because they have very little hair too, its not a fashion statement or trying to be tough.

If the shavehead Pole happens to have big muscles and wears shirt without sleeves,he causes fear even if he is harmless. In general shavehead Polaks,Ukrainians and Russians look rather terrifying due to certain facial and body built characteristics.Maybe people tend to think they are bullies even though this is not true.

Sounds like heaven to me, oh! that must have been the reason I enjoyed Poland so much in the summer :)

Oh come on judge someone by their actions and not what they look like - not all mucles bound skin heads are meat heads

It is not only their appearance,it is the way they move, they talk,in general they are fearsome.German shaveheads are more fearsome only due to their dopermans.I am sure Polaks,or Ukrainians can beat Germans.Russians can send them to hell, they are real beasts.

I can't agree. Usually I shave my head and that's normal here.

I agree with Grzegorz. there is a certain group of men shaving their heads and that doesn't necessary put them in a gang/mafia/dresiarze category.
It's just that not everyone looks good intha particular "hairdo".

Just like Greg says..it's normal. I don't think there are any real answers. It's just a popular thing. I've asked and many said because styling it is a waste of time. Poland...bald heads and Boykini's.

normal. :) its got a myriad of reasons as to why. some bad but most are just run of the mill ordinary. The main part would be how you behave really - if you dress like a skinhead and ACT like one, well, there you go...

I've still got hair but I can't get near any of the bloody bathrooms before I go out.

Ps I am an idiot so I guess this is anecdotal evidence for your theory
