The 2.4 is only the official and direct aid. Israel costs the US much more than that every single year. Between 1973 to 2003 the US taxpayers paid $140 B. to maintain the country based on apartheid.

The "war on terrorism" does not belong to one person, Bush or otherwise. Any country can be the victim of terrorists. Extemists of any religious group can commit terrorism against another group holding a dissimilair belief system. This problem belongs to us all. The topic of this thread has always bothered me....

What uninformed nonsense you use to form your opinions on the arab-israeli conflict. Here are some facts:
Arabs do go to the beaches in Israel. They also go to the malls, the stores and they even drive in the streets.
If you're referring to Arabs from the west bank, they used to go to the beaches in Israel proper and travelled around freely until there were just too many bombings by Arabs coming from the west bank. That led to a more serious separation between those areas and Israel proper. Now there are hardly any bombings coming from there.
The Israelis are not persecuting the Palestinians as you would have it. There is a bloody war of terror against Israeli civilians that is being waged by Hamas, Fatah and other groups. The Israeli army does its best to defend the population from these attacks. When ever their guard is let down or "good will gestures" are made, the attacks continue.
