I don't agree I'm afraid, Maggie didn't liaise with Saddam on as large a scale as Reagan. Vagina falling out, that's a front page headline right there

Google "Matrix Churchill" & " Scott Enquiry " just for starters. UK have never been fussy who is buying as long as there was a lucrative contract. Never more so than the Thatcher years.

I think u r thinking about compulsory competitive tendering but I know that Thatcher was involved in aiding Hussein, I never attempted to deny it. I was talking about the scale of the assistance not being on a par with what America did. Thatcher didn't have a great opinion of the Iraqis and Hussein did her bidding for her. Reagan and Bush snr were rampant tho

no,you used the term "scale" in which case,Britain being smaller probably gave more in comparison to the USA in terms of scale.Either way, both maggie and ronnie were well suited, both mad old coots who would have delt with the devil if it suited them....

Well, whatever the quantifiable fact was, they were both old biddies with bees in their bonnet. The kind of freaks that would poison ur tea just to be vindictive. The point is that they gave weapons which led to the paranoia. Scott Ritter, being a specialist, branded Bush as a liar. American technology is awesome and they'd easily have known if Saddam was using things he shouldn't have been.

Is Iran feeling the US will back down if they continue to push?

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2008-01/09/content_7392944.htm

Bush meets today with Palestine to push for resolve. I felt Olmert was very honest in his hopes of working out difficult issues.

Bush prods Israel, Palestinians for final peace

Olmert assured Bush during the press conference that both Israelis and Palestinians are "very seriously" trying to move forward and make the vision of a two-state solution a reality.

Are you referring to the US backing down, if so from what ? Are you referring to the USA or Iran as the ones doing the pushing ?

Been saying this for last 50 years. Say this on one hand while the work is ongoing building a wall that will make the West Bank a large open air prison.URL

i am sure they are as grateful as the american people are for not having their sons sent off to fight in another pointless conflict

am reading an interesting book atm - blink, by malcome gladwell - one of the chapters is about paul van ripper, a high ranking american marine and military consultant.

the chapter is about his involvement in the millennium challenge '02 - the millennium challenge '02 is americas largest and most expensive (1/4 billion dollars) war game which they started planning in spring 2000 and finally staged in the summer of 2002. the scenario of the war game was america vs a rouge military comander somewhere in the persian gulf... sound familiar...?

the american military, with all the backing of JFCOM, were the blue team - mr rouge military comander, with all the backing of his religious fanatics were the red team.

ill let you guess what the outcome was and how quickly the looser had their arse kicked

With regards to the latest bit of BS I think all Americans should do a search for "Gulf of Tonkin,1965".........a fictional assualt on the USN that was used as an excuse to start the Vietnam conflict....58.000 dead GIs later and 2 million dead Vietnamese...you may want to consider that before you blindly believe the news reports....

America could do with spreading the net as wide as it can. Is it making effective use of informants? This was a tactic employed in NI, with varying/mixed success. It was invariably Protestants who clandestinely tried to get key info from Catholics and ended up tarrred and feathered and without knee-caps. America has the advantage of powerful guns and being able to manipulate to their own ends.

If you read the comments and observations by some of the well-informed posters on:

http://www.libertyforum.org/

the WOT is a propaganda ploy concocted by Israeli agents to get particularly America and Britain, two countries where Zionists have achieved political control by funding the election campaigns of lawmakers, to fight those Arabs who have been helping Palestinians try to recover lands stolen by armed force in the last century by Zionist terrorists. As authors Mearsheimer and Walt point out the Israeli lobby has total control of the US Congress as a result of manning as well as funding the campaigns of representatives who then do whatever the lobby asks for in the matter of foreign policy, including giving a rough time to leaders like Putin who don't tow the Israeli line. Any senator or representative who fails to support pro-Israel policies gets no campaign funding in the next election; it goes to his/her opponent. Neither does such a candidate get publicity in all of the mainstream media that zionists and their friends now control; witness how rarely Ron Paul is mentioned in his campaign for the presidency.

So while the Bolshevik Jews used the gun to get control of Russia and eastern Europe under the rubric of Soviet communism their American zionist counterparts are using money siphoned off corporations they control to fund election candidates and policy think tanks from which their agents could easily move into key positions in the US administration to, for example, launch the wars on Iraq to stop Saddam from helping Palestinians in their attempts to get back homes and lands stolen from them by Israel. Funding elections costs the Israeli lobby millions of dollars and even though they are able to get this back a thousand fold, by "directing" Congress to gift $3-billion taxpayer dollars to Israel annually, there's suspicion they've hit upon a simpler method to maintain political control of America: rig/hack the electronic voting machines to make sure Hillary and their other candidates get elected. This is one explanation for Hillary's win over Obama in the New Hampshire primary, even though he was way ahead in the pre-primary polls.

ShelleyS, we have a saying, 'many a true word spoken in jest'. America has had this hoo haa, we're gonna kick ur ass mentality for as long as I can remember. Celinski referred to Iran being lucky that America didn't "take them out". Yet another prong in the Axis of Evil would bite the dust but at what cost? China, Russia and North Korea would have sth 2 say about it and I can assure u it wouldn't be pleasant. Where does this obsession with bombing and machoism stem from? Years of brainwashing and social indoctrination probably

Bollox, name a single Arab state that has done anything to help the palastinians.......
Look at all the surrounding Arab countries, they have had palastinian refugee's in camps for 60 odd years now, still in camps and not allowed to intergrate into the wider community....
