Should there be a war on terror and how/who should it be fought?

U did say that celinski, I remember u posting it. The report said that the strength of steel drops markedly through prolonged exposure to fire. I'm first to admit that I'm not an authority on this but I disagree with that. It has an impact for sure but the core issue here is integrity. Steel is super sturdy and it takes chemical intervention to destabilise its compactness and some wizardry to pulverise it into smithereens. I believe one of the paragraphs refers to what is called 'the pancaking theory' where floors drop downwards like dominoes. This has been cogently refuted in many Youtube videos. I have to say that, on first reading, I'd have found the claims here in your report plausible, but I've just read so much more that counters it convincingly. I can assure that I read it thoroughly and actually went along with some of it. However, I am not inclined to blindly follow the content of govt reports. youtube.com/watch?v=fxm8lB-V2uI, over 2 u Carol

OK I'm back, interesting video. What I feel about the video is it's not taking into account the jet fuel and tempature. What about the weight of the broken beams and walls and the plane full of people. This is not to mention desks, file cabinets, chairs, inner walls. I have not seen the inside other than recaps of people calling loved ones, so I am guessing. Reguardless, I did not see the weight of a plane or steel comprimised to this extent in the other building.

I must say I have a Jenn air top of the line indoor convection stove. This way I can barbaque in the winter. Two weeks ago while cooking 3 hambugers on this grill one hambuger started on fire. I couldn't believe it, the grill snapped and broke. I have thinner steel on my outdoor grill and never had this happen. Although my appliance was under a full warrenty I wrote and called Jenn air to let them know this happened. If someone showed me the thickness of this steel and told me this could happen, I would have thought they were crazy. Hey, maybe I should send this to 9/11 investigators and they can explain it.

When I look around just my living room I have to consider my computer, TV, radio, printer and wires within the walls. Three floor were hit, not one. Over 200 people were inside the WTC that knew it was over and opted to end their lives. Lets assume 10% went to work with suicidal thoughts. What made the people inside opt to jump. It was the tempatures. On the phone with her husband, one lady tells of unbearable heat. She talks to her husband and asks him to tell there two little girls she loves them, remember, (I believe you sent me that one) she is one of the bodies that jumped. Over 200 people, jumping to death from 110 floor. They knew it would be over. They must has also known to stay was useless. This was not just smoke, there were flames from the explosion. What really convinces me is the size of the building and the size of the planes.

I also take into consideration, it is much easier to be mad than to hurt. Maybe this explains why it is so difficult to just have sympathy for us. Every possiable walk of life was involved in this horriable nightmare we call 9/11.

OK, celinksi, I'm off to write a report for my work so I'll leave u an, of course, optional task. If u were granted an interview with Dick Cheney, what 10 questions would u ask him? It's be interesting to know. I'll be back soon enough

How come you hide behind Bush?
Who's your barber?
Why didn't you pick a bigger body for president to hide behind?
Do your lips move when Bush talks?
If Pres. Bush had his own thought would it scare you?
Where are you all the time?

I'll have to give my other questions some thought.

Why he has been DIRECTLY hypocritical and also so sceptical of Iran. Also, doesn't he see a double standard, not allowing Iran to develop alternative sources of energy whilst America has such options. What would his likely response be?

Personally I have not looked at what USA really is going to do for energy. I was more concerned with the way they are so angry and yet nothing is done about it?

Iran is very angry, and this is just one. Dick Cheney scares me because he has a way of speaking and can be very convincing, if the wrong people listen and believe he can do alot of damage.

Other anger can be seen with certian posters that con't to bring up WTC and/or Bush without condeming, names are not needed and we are all aloud our own thoughts.

Iran are angry bcoz their rights are being trampled on. Why can't they pursue a strategy of nuclear energy as Britain is doing? It is economical and produces many benefits. No one allowed Iran a weapon in the Iran-Iraq War yet Saddam was armed to the hilt by the US and UK. Don't u think that's a little unfair? They are not as angry as u might think, my friend has told me that this is spin and Iran are trying to tow a 'line of decency'. They will not act irrationally here.

No it's not unfair because they were making weapons and they are angry. If you put someone in timeout (hospital) for trying to kill themself, do you give them a knife?

When there President talks them into tying a bomb to themself and they are doing something fantastic. I think the definition of decency differs.

They were making weapons? Where's the proof? Many countries already have weapons, what's ur point? They are angry bcoz their rights to pursue an alternative energy policy is being denied. They have signed to some limitations but Russia has aided them in certain ways and the US have done nothing. The Iranian President has suicide bombers available but they are not being used much at all. They are part of his defence plans for unwarranted foreign incursions

Remember they just gave evidense that they stopped, that means they had started.

Then maybe they should consider not taking the boats out and playing games with the USA? Yes, Russia is giving them uranium and missle shields. After all Putin must cover his oil.

Yes, I was happy they did not take out their boats, this is great restraint for a country that has had boats used as bombs on them.

How deep into American waters did the Iranian boats go? (wink) At least Iran didn't adopt the Magnus Magnusson approach of 'I've started so I'll finish', as seen on Mastermind. Who wouldn't want to develop a weapon anyway during an 8 year war with no immediate end in sight? The US and UK HEAVILY tipped the balance in favour of Saddam, the very man the US killed. Why don't u penalise Russia for helping Iran, one of the 3 prongs of the axis of evil? Now 2 prongs maybe. Bush said in 2001 that there'd be no holding back. Also, Iran sent out SPEEDBOATS, doing a standard patrol. America set this up and I'm worried that it'll be yet another pretext. Great restraint? What were u doing so close to their waters anyway? Fact finding? Lost ur way?

er,the straits of hormuz are about as narrow as the gibraltar straits, you cant help but get close to Iranian waters, thats what all the fuss was about in the late 80s.

If someone tries to kill themslf in the USA we commit them to the hospital for proper care. Some need medication or just therpy. We in the USA do not glorify killing yourself.

They happen to be there because of the war.

Thats what American do to their kids when they are naughty. They have to sit and think about what they did. For each year old it's 1 min.

I think you have just illustrated my point better than I could have myself.

If someone tries to self harm perhaps therapeutic engagement is better than isolation and rumination.

Anyway, back to the topic........

There is more than a shred of truth in what he is saying. U can't tell me, in all honesty, that Bush won't filter off some oil for the ailing domestic cause. Bin Laden supports Palestine, what's so wrong with that? Israelis attack Palestinians with the support of big brother America, why can't he attempt to redress the balance somewhat? As an American, if ur rights are trodden on, u'll fight back. Rumour has it that Iran has now captured some leading Al Qaeda members. Iran is part of the war on terrorism too. Ever since their diplomats were murdered in Afghanistan, they have taken a stand

At 500 000 barrels a day, Iraq is the USAs sixth largest fuel supplier already.

BTW - The US import 81 000 barrels a day from Russia, such is their desperation for oil.
