A small game for us Poles in AU

I am new to this forum, still at the stage of reading old posts and learning about Poles living in Australia. Maybe that’s why I think it would be good if we could learn a bit about ourselves. I think it would be good if we could be a tiny little bit less anonymous…. and have least a tiny little bit ;) of an idea of who we chat with.

I suggest for whoever wants to participate to write ONLY the following:

1. Place of residence (city, state…)
2. Your age (doesn’t have to be exact of course)
3. How long you have been living in Australia
4. One thing you like about Oz (just an example)
5. One thing that annoys you in Oz


I will start:

1. Sydney

4. I like the quality lifestyle, it is very balanced in comparison to other places in the world.
5. I do not like calling info lines for all major institutions. You can never easily talk to anyone. First you have to choose from a menu that consists of 10 different options, then you have to answer 10 questions, give 5 passwords, wait for 30 minutes only to be cut off ‘accidentally’ by an operator who is based in India and whom you cant understand. Waste of time and annoying!!!

I'm not a Pole but my parents are :P

sunny weather, lots of things to do, active lifestyle
pressure to participate in a rat race - everybody talks about jobs, cars, houses, expensive holidays, flash restaurants - it is often about the dollar; friendships are sometimes shallow - it becomes "too" politically correct and people stop being warm and open - they are terrified to be honest, to say what they really want to, to ask what they really want to know - soooo different from a very direct attitude of majority of Poles
