Smoking ban - will this be coming to Poland like other EU countries?

As for my opinion on the ban it might be a good thing. But I am worried what I will be smelling in any nightclubs once the haze of smoke has lifted... Its frightening with so many binge drinkers around.

I remember growing up, both of my parents would smoke in the car... Winter was worst, because the car's heater was on: terrible combination of dry, hot air and cigarette smoke. I remember it being so hard to breathe....

I grew up to be a non smoker, and now, when I visit my mom, I come home smelling like an ashtray and have to change my clothes.

It is so refreshing to come home from a restaurant / bar and not smell either. Years ago they had smoking / non smoking sections, but it was pointless, there was no walls separating the two sections, and the smoke just circulates any way it wants. Usually, non smokers end up being smoke magnets... :-)

I will tell you how it is in Poland... you wait at bus stop and there is often somebody who smoke around you, and he doesn't care about others... pubs? discos? eating places? cigarettes are everywhere :/ there is not many places with separated rooms for smokers. What can I say... I'm part-time smoker, but not by choice (and that sux) :/

i think its a great idea to ban smoking, the dangers of passive smoking are huge and i think people hshould have the freedom of not having to inhale someone else's smoke... in fact a ban on alchohol of some sort will help, there will be less domestic violence, less alchoholics on the street and definatley less violence, a much happier, safer cleaner environment

OK I suggest we ban absinthe. Look what happened to all those French poets and philosophers who drank the stuff. The other sorts of alcohol can be ommitted from the ban.

Another tremendous idea. Lets ban alcohol so that the people who enjoy it but act responsibly get punished for the misue of others. Why stop there? Cars are bloody dangerous things and some people cannot drive very well. All those aircraft flights are warming the globe.

I hate all this, it's just a restricion on our liberties. If you want to smoke, who cares? As long as it's not weed I don't care.

civil liberties are great, hell yeah... but when you smoke you affect somebody elses civil liberties.. the other day in england doctors are encouraging pregnant woment to refrain from alchohol.. these things affect our health... people are waking up now and understanding the long term benefits, lets support this cause, if your mama or papa dies from lung cancer or heart disease more then likely it is an effect of tobacco - liver cancer related to alchohol, oh and not to forget the dirnk n drive problems.. the world is natural enjoy it in a natural way..

weed is better than tobacco.. and it makes you feel better... I say ban cigarettes and open coffee shops everywhere.

I can't say that I know anything about the legal systems overseas, but here in the state of Ohio, USA a law recently passed restricting smoking to homes, vehicles, and 30' from any building entrance.....Not that it's actually being enforced. Sometime this month it is to go back to the ballots. The change to the law would be smoking permitted in bars and private clubs. To this I agree. I am a smoker, a BIG one. But I cannot selfishly expect non-smokers to be forced into my habit. I think I should be able to get through a meal at a restaurant and not light one up, yes? Times they are achanging and we all have to learn to roll with it in some way

I don't see anything wrong with baning smoking at the restaurants, official buildings, any public places. However, it is silly to ban it even in the taverns. That's what people are going there for, to drink and to smoke. I say - let them. I don't have to be there. There is no smoking in Chicago for a couple of years already and the cigarettes, I think are over $7.00... smoking is a 'luxury' nowadays...and a waste of money.
But, Tobacco companies are still doing well in China, Russia and Europe.
