Good point. The NHS has been in downfall for at least a decade (probably more) cancelled operations and waiting times (for example) have been a problem for a long time and nothing to do with Polish people. It's an old story.

NHS is funded by taxpayers. Majority of Polish immigrants age 20 - 35 ( IMHO ) pay tax and are healthy.
Biggest expense of NHS is on secondary health care ( care homes etc) that they won't access.
Thought for the day, maybe the young healthy Polish taxpayers are subsidising the NHS ?

how stupid is that??

agreed, stupid to single out the Poles in this, but it is an accumilation, something I just dont think many Polish people understand, not having had continous imigration to Poland from all round the world these past 40-50 years.

It was working on the problems and money was being spent, there had been radical shake ups - but, when the UK opened its did not expect the influx if migrant workers it got, thus putting more pressure on and causing more problems, also lets take in to consideration the amount of people that come here on visas and oversay and still expect treatment and in some case expensive treatment for cancers and HIV / AIDS, so you see our wonderful free service has become a little bit tired and frayed at the edges but its being worked on!

Can you elaborate on post? Or does slagging off something you know nothing about make you sound good?

Any.

If you're a Pole you seem to think that there isnt a problem with the massive number of immigrants coming to Britain(unless of course they're brown).

- You mean all the Poles think so? Do you suggest we all are, ahem, racist? How about you? You have a problem with Polish 'immgration' to UK but not with 'brown' immigration to UK, don't you? Very unracist indeed. How skillful nowadays the racist has become in blaming others for racism.

See my previous response.

As an Englishman with a Polish wife I honestly have more sympathy for working class Brits in this matter. Some of them have gone from earning half what I earn, to a quarter

They are certainly a large contributing factor. To deny this is to deny basic economic laws of supply and demand. More labour = lower wages. Where it comes from is not the issue.

I didnt say they were , nor even hinted. Feel free to weave your little embellishments though. Its the only thing about any of your posts that give them even a veneer of intelligence or thought.

Nope, they are one of many on this forum.

Puzzler wrote:
The bigots in this forum, such as Kilkline, attack the Poles for their alleged taking away jobs from the British, but don't say a word about the thousand and one other nations working in UK, especially the numerous Africans and Asians - who, by the way, unlike the Poles, aren't Europeans, and so EU members....

Because this is a forum about Poland and a thread refering to Polish immigration to Britain. Therefore why would I start talking about "third world people" as you so enlighteningly call them.

Puzzler wrote:
Why don't you say it openly? :)

... The Poles are the most convenient and safest scapegoat, eh, racist cowards?

You seem to be getting a bit emotional Puzzler and seeing enemies everywhere. The whole point of my post was that most people on this forum cannot accept or see that Polish immigration has BOTH positive and negative consequences and that seeing the whole subject in purely polarised terms is wrong and a mistake. People pick sides and sit there 'with there fingers in their ears' not accepting anything that may contradict their own entrenched views.Your response to my post has unintentially supported my point as you are a prime example of what I was talking about.

Therefore you are trying to disagree with me on my points (which you have done your usual subjective and incorrect interpretation of) and have in fact illustrated the validity original point with your responses.

Cheers mate, you're nothing if not consistant.

In most countries people pay taxes only if they have income. I didn't realize in UK babies can be gainfully employed so they can pay taxes on their income.

If you're only paying taxes for a short time, that balances only receiving (some of) the services they pay for for a short time.

Long enough to know that people who are narrow minded usually haven't had to fend for themselves or ever needed to ask for anyones help. Just sponged of their parents and instead of being grateful for what they have got, use it to bully others less fortunate.
Sound familiar ?

Real ale, gnarled old hollow oak trees, windy country lanes and The Clash.

Sorry, just answering the original question.

I'm feeling a bit left out here with my lack of Scottishness, so instead I shall mention the fantastic views of London you get from Waterloo Bridge, both up and down the river.

I can't help but mention the amazing people from around the world you get to meet here too.
