Polish people do not seem to have a problem with alcohol.

Of course not. Do you know that Poles and Russians are mentioned in encyclopeadias as the only survivors of 7 per mill content of alcohol in blood?

At this stage this thread has become a competition rather than what the OP intended...

But I have never ever seen drinking like in Lithuania:

In comparison, the Irish and Poles are teetotallers.

I heard when I lived there that the lads would leave a metal pipe in the snow, buy a cheap perfume, and pour the perfume down the pipe. The 'idea' was that the 'impurities' would freeze to the pipe (alcohol having a lower freezing temperature), allowing the alcohol to come out the end of the pipe to be drunk, to be drunk.

Who isn't mentally challenged when he is drunk? ;)

I don't believe in that story (slow movements, lousy coordination, coal mine worker?). But I'm willing to reconsider:)

Where did you get that information?

It depends on the line of work they are in. Vodka was a social problem many years ago but Poles have learned to temper it and enjoy it at the right time.

Yeltsin was the last communist honoring vodka.Just kidding.
Anyway who knows what red army would have achieved against the meth drugged German soldiers if Russians were not under the influence of vodka they consumed before and during each battle.I mean the vodka made them fearless and ruthless to an unknown degree.(with happy consequences for the Frauleins later).

I heard those stories from old people from Vojvodina.
In the trucks to nowhere.

Anyway Russians are quite fearless without vodka I think, although I didn't meet many who were not drunk or drugged. I spent one month with Russians who were mostly young artists, so I probably had inadequate sample. I felt like I'm in Bulgakov's novel. Super interesting nightmare.
It seems that they developed some tolerance to those substances because most of them even when heavily intoxicated had capacities to think quite clear.
One guy told me that his professor in directing school asked him will he ever have an opportunity to meet him at least half conscious. He finished 2 faculties with psychoactive substances in his blood.

I ran away, I couldn't manage that pressure to intoxicate myself.
But it was the time of my life anyway. Great experience.

Amazing people.

Not hardly. She's a local character of Polish and Belorussian extraction. She can frequently be found in a certain bar on the near north side of Chicago.

My (current) girlfriend is first generation Sicilian. She says I make her toes curl.

Jesus! That fool drank that whole bottle of vodka! I hope he didn't p.iss near a campfire later that night. My old Polish grand pop was champion drunk but he never pulled a stunt like that.

I'm sure it's true, but nationality doesn’t determine whether you'll be an alcoholic or not.

But it does when it comes to drinking all day long at the "Kiosk", lol

Whoever is videotaping these things is complicit. It's like taping a suicide. The guy with the camera taping the men drinking a whole bottle is the low-life.

Alcoholic problem of Polish people?? Well, at least Poles like to share their problems, something for which we should all be grateful given their kind, hospitable nature in homes across the country :)
