I'm going to Poland in the summer, and I wanted to know what Poles thought of red hair? Particularly Polish girls!

In England, red hair on men is not a popular colour. Almost all girls prefer black, brown or blonde over red. The american girls I know tell me it is the same in the states too.

So I wanted to know, is there a stigma in Poland about red hair? Is it unpopular or do Poles not even care?

Sorry for the weird post.........

It's say that if you're auburn then Bob's your uncle.. :-). But if you're totally pale, pinkish and light red then .... try your luck! Anyway, keep my fingers crossed for you!

So women dye their hair red in Poland? As usual, it is okay for women to have red hair.....just not for men. sigh........life is so unfair.....

Only if those red nose hairs aren't trimmed.

Haven't you heard of "Red Hair Day" in Poland? On April 1, all natural red-haired Poles meet in the town square, hold hands and dance
in a circle (kolo). After a good sweat, they begin to gyrate to something akin to the Krakowiak while simultaneously speaking and yelling in 'tongues'.

At this point the village children are allowed to throw tomatoes at the participants.

it does unfortunately - a saying goes for example: rudy znaczy fa³szywy - red hair- must be a fake guy

i was personally prejudiced against red-haired people when I was younger - I am not now consciously but you know such things tend to cling to your subconsciousness

When I was a child, it was my fondest wish to have really, really red hair :-) Unfortunately, my wish never came true and I'm still a brunette today ;-(

You should see the red hair the old women have in Russia...!

When i say red , i am talking bright luminous red....the kind of red they put on nuclear warning signs....

Very scarey...!

If you gonna be in north of Poland then you will see some people with red hair. but in the south you wont find that many.

I guess people wont care about your hair color. I think they would care more if you were African or Asian.

Oh, so you're double-jointed?

Stop with the red hairing, I mean red herring propositions.

I've seen many Polish women die their hair colour red-orange, and usually very short on the sides and taller on the top. It looks bad imo.

It never use to be and redheads use to get a lot of stick, but it can look striking. Depends on the individual just like any other hair colour.
Its not the colour of hair, its the person wearing it. And possibly the style.

I read a translated Lithuanian short story wherein the author claimed that red-hair is extremely rare in that country. If true this seems strange because one would expect countries with many natural blondes to also have many natural red-heads. Has anyone reading this been to Lithuania and noticed a dearth of red-heads?

I'm glad I don't have red hair because I've heard many girls talk about how they would never want to date a redhead.

I live in America though.
