Is it me or do any guys in poland not have shaved heads?

maybe it's because they start loosing hair sooner, so it's easy to say that he's shaved then bald ...? ;) that's bad that their heads are bald but the rest of their body is hairy like a monkey's ... ;P

I think it is more popular among the working class young poles. It might be practacle whilst working on the farms it might also give them a strong 'he man' image. It is undoubtadly an Eastern European Slav thing.

I'm punting for the 'saving money' option, I guess if there is less money needed for hair care there is more money for other stuff. Kind of makes sense if you think about it!

there are skinheads in every country, and it's mostly the city guys who shave their heads, not the farmers in the countryside. i think that guys who shave their heads are either trying to cover up the fact that they are practically bald anyway, or it's simply their image.

what strikes me about the picture of Poles is that they look like a 'neo mazi' group. Look a the way there dressed, look at the haircuts, lol, straight out of the stereotype :).

I bet you if you were a woman walking home at night, you'd cross the road if you saw those guys walking your way, lol. At least you could walk past the British guy :). I know i know i know there are skinhead British guys, having been to Poland (Krakow) i have never seen so many skinheads in all my life. I can't speak for the rest of the country of course but there were a lot of skinheads in Krakow compared to, say, Plymouth.

now now when did i say all Poles?? can you remind me please, maybe you could quote when i said that!!!!! I was pointing out that in Krakow compared to my local city, there were a lot more skinheads (Which stands for the style of haircut) than there are in my city.

Hope that sorts it out, i guess i will be labelled a 'Pole' basher for ever no matter what i say

I don't think long hair suites polish men because most poles have thin hair. I started growing out my hair a few years ago but had to cut it when i realized that it made me look feminine. Also, men with long hair (ie: "z ogonkiem" - pony tail) in poland were once labelled as being "typy" (suspicious looking, criminal-like - help with translation??), bums and not hard working. Maybe this is another reason why men keep their hair short.

But i agree with most of you, the shaved head look is disturbing especially when these guys dress in those euro tracksuits or like in the above picture.
