If that's true, I'll be dead meat when I visit Poland. I will most likely end up in bankruptcy, from all the fines, ha!

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

Also avoid Michigan, Oklahoma, NC, Rhode Island and a couple other States.

AFAIK, there is some rule that says swearing in public places may cost you up to 50 PLN (somebody correct me if i'm wrong) - in practice it would be pretty much impossible to execute it. If you stand in front of a cop yelling out obscenities, you'll get a fine, that's for sure. Other than that, don't worry, you'd have to have real bad luck to get fined for swearing :)

The fine is exactly 50zl, for 'using vulgarisms in public'. It is a civil 'crime' so the fine can't be enforced except by a civil action which takes ages.

That's not true at all although I hear the K word less and less. You can swear and it just depends who is the judge of can and can't.

It can't be true, the whole story is made up, I reckon.
Besides, I can bet no Polish person would pay that much for such a silly "crime". You get 100 zł fine when crossing the street on red light, but 500 zl for swearing? Give me a break.

It's 50zl. My friend was fined in Toruń a couple of years ago. He never paid and hasn't heard anything.
