It's more my wife's kind of music. She's been to a quite a few black metal concerts both here and in Norway. It's not really my type of music but I like some of the symphonic stuff. Satanic just isn't my thing but I love good riffs, irrespective of the type of metal.

Decapitated is the way to go when it comes to riffs.

Some would say Taake from Norway have a kick-as* guitarist.

I like Ihsahn, he plays very tricky technical riffs. He's from the Norwegian band Emperor.. I'm sure you know them, one of my favourite bands.

BTW, one of the problems I have with Dimmu Borgir is this:

Yeah, some bands can go off the rails but their Progenies song was still well worth listening to.

im from southamerica and the only polish bands known abroad ( like big BIG ones) is
1 behemoth
2 decapitated

Arcturus are playing in Katowice on the 14th of Jan. A big name! The lead singer is ex-DB. ICS Vortex is a major name in metal circles.

I just wish Windir were still around! RIP Valfar

Here in Silesia, metal is popular in a big way! I don't expect to be able to move at the Arcturus gig.
