Money spent on church building in Poland

I love our Catholic faith I think it teaches people to be better human beings, however what's the deal with much needed money being spent on building monumental churches in Poland these days?? Poland has so many of them, some very new and beautiful that money could be going to building hospitals or schools. This is like a Christian version of Saudi Arabia building mosques.

It's better to have RC churches than mosques... Though the first project seems like it's a religious museum. Is tax payer money going towards these projects?
