Eurola: The original poster's girl is about a year old now and the poster is a very busy mom now. I don't think we'll ever know her daughter's name.. True enough. But then again, someone who is pregnant and thinking about (polish) babynames might find this post interresting :)
skysoulmate: You could also chose an international-sounding first name and a Polish sounding (Katarzyna?) middle name. When she gets older she can chose the one she likes the most... PS. Don't like Katarina - it sounds Russian and reminds me of a certain Russian oppressor... Just my 1/2 rouble on the pretty subject... Gaawd, why didn't I think about that first one? Thanks:D Will keep that in mind when that time comes!
I've never heard the russian pronunciation of the name Katarina? Here we say the name straight forward (almost Katarzyna) with no rolling R's and a long I :)
