Why Poles have so pro-emigration attitude?

That's a fair point, PMoc. They wanted to haul a*s out of Poland and try sth new. However, I think most underestimated how lonely they would feel away from their families. Poland is a tight-knit society in terms of family values and time abroad means 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' and, perhaps, 'absinthe makes the head forget' ;)

I can remember thinking that 'WOW', this guy is taking one hell of a cut for merely validating documents in his notarial capacity. Somewhere around 1000PLN,

In the US they have notaries in the banks and if you have a bank account in this particular bank you pay nothing, the most I ever paid for getting stuff notarized was $5.Why can't it be like that in PL?

because notarians in Poland are a corporation - they decide who can join the corporation and who cannot - that same thing was for other lawyers too before in Poland - btw PiS wanted to get rid of corporations among law professionals - it was naturally hated by all these lawyers

It is a global trend ... everyone is emigrating, and if you say the Americans and UK people (or western world) is not, then I would say that they miss the fun.

However I do agree that now Poland needs Poles more than ever to develop, but even then I am pro freedom of choosing to emigrate, and I am also pro those who choose to immigrate to my country. So here you go ... its fare all around.

One could also argue that because they're so tight-knit with their families, they are ill-equipped for travel abroad in general for extended periods of time. It always amazed me how often young college students would go home to see their parents. Every weekend, the train and bus stations would be absolutely mobbed in Wroclaw with college kids going home to see mommy and daddy. Often times it would be a 3-4 hour train ride (each way) yet they would still make the trip. Not saying it's bad, it just always made me view Poles as being a bit more dependent on their families than what I'm used to.

Also, Poland is very different from Western Europe which simply adds to the shock value when they move to another country compared to say a German moving to France or Switzerland. The bigger the transition, the less it feels like home?

They tend to be more dependent, yes. Many fell prey to the dictates of the boomerang generation where they return to their families after having left the nest to no effect. Why live in a society that is like a pressure chamber?
