Do Poles like other religions than catholic?

is it 95%catholic in poland. what's the other 5%. are there protestants there. do polish catholics like protestants. there are alot of trouble in scotland between catholics and protestants. especially after football match. celtic versus rangers what are polish people's views on religion especially protestantism cheers

I attended a catholic high-school in Krakow. With high discipline morals and nuns running around. On my way to school I would walk from the tramway, sometimes meet my friends and ocassionally would stop at a church to pray before school started.
One time we stopped at a Lutheran church. There wasn't much difference. Nobody kicked us out or anything.
I heard Polish people say that we all pray to the same God, and it doesn't matter what religion you belong to, as long as you pray.
Just my observations.

I don't think that there are95% catholics in Poland . Maybe about 80%.
I think that Catholic and Jehova witnesses are rather hostile to each other.

But Catholic and other religions are quite friendly and co-existing in Poland.

Why in Scotland there are so much trouble between Catholics and Protestants?
I was reading about our polish footballer playing for Celtic who made sign of cross during game and got himself in trouble for this. Why?

it's similar to sweetheart, babe, honey, dear, darling,stuff like that

why are they so much trouble. it it goes back along time i guess

maybe if you type catholics/protestants into your browser it will help instead of me typing forever(because thats how how it will take)

ok there has been alot of blood spilled over these two religions thats why. thats goes back along time

and as far as rangers and celtic go. without going into these two teams history . rangers and celtic are predominantly( which means biggest percentage) protestants and catholics respectively.

if you have any other questions on this i will be happy to comment.

and as far as boruc is concerned he did not get into trouble for crossing himself but for inciting the crowd. because of these 2 teams history, it's really something a football playere cannot do. why does he or any player have to bless themselves on a football park. it's not a church.

I do make a sign of cross on a loaf of bread before I cut it into sandwiches. Why? Partly because Polish Catholics associate bread with Christ's flesh. The other reason is just to show respect and thanks giving for these gift. My grandmother taught me this. During the war they didn't always had something to eat. You never know what the next day brings.

My mum also made the sign of the cross when cutting bread (its a bit difficult when you buy sliced bread though)

also when starting a car/train/plane journey.

Ps it good to see some people still maintain traditional values and are not scared sharing it...well done.

Artur Boruc got himself in trouble with glasgow police for making sign of the cross it was viewed as inciting crowd trouble in which he got cautioned for (criminal record) ha ha you have to laugh don t you!Police investigated complaints from Glasgow Rangers fans who hate Roman Catholics who sing songs about killing catholics and cheered the death of the POPE.Basically Glasgow Celtic is a catholic team and Rangers Protestant and it all has a lot to do with Ulster Northern Ireland with celtic on the side of the nationlists(republicans)and Rangers with the Loyalists protestants who want to remain British.Scotland has a bad reputation for sectarism where even you or me wearing a crucifix in certain parts would result in abuse.Of course not all are like that.I try to see the funny side of it all.

thanks for explanation. it seems to be lots trouble about religion here. In Northern Ireland, Scotland...... I feel lost with all religions here. You have Church of England, but I guess only in England. What about Scotland? is it church of Scotland or just protestant? Anyway, I suppose I would support Celtic.

Church of England and Church of Scotland are splits from the Protestant religion but are still Protestant faiths.The Church of England is a prosestant demomination of Christianity which was established by King Henry v111 of England.In 1534 he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church with the act of supremacy which declared the king of England to be the head of the church of England now the Queen.The monarch there for imposed Prostestantism with himself taking the place of the Pope. YES u should support Celtic!!!!!
