But when a Greek hears a German woman speaking he imagines constant BJs they have this tone of voice...the provocative one aka deep throat.

To me they sound that you will probably get one efficient castration in one accurate second. I was once touched by young German woman (cosmetician), I thought I was under the machine who has all the moves programmed and they are always repeated in a same way, same latency. It was like being with the robot alone for 30 min. I was close to tears for the lack of everything. I don't understand how that can turn somebody on, are you sure that Greek fantasies about their German women deep throats aren't driven by some unconscious need to annihilate the national pain and punish them to restore historical and economical justice?

I would much rather that Polish diplomats use Polish and qualified interpreters rather than trying to use English. I'd make an exception for those with substantial life experience in anglophone countries but it's too dangerous to try diplomacy in a foreign language (it's far too easy to agree to something you didn't intend to or don't fully understand).

The only alternative would be for Poland to self-colonize and make English the number one priority of the entire education system (like a lot of former british colonies do). But that's not a good strategy either.

Not understanding in diplomacy? Even with average English that would have to be on really lousy diplomat not to read the written or told accurately.

I guess I would be a lousy diplomat (despite being a native speaker of English) cause I can't understand what you're trying to say....

I agree with you that would be logical and normal. However they are playing for Polish audience, for them it seems a fact that politician can speak a foreign language is very important - ignorants.

Roman Giertych: barely understandable and is reading directly from his notes. he can't speak english.

Grzegorz Lato: you must be kidding even posting that.

Kwaskniewski: at the very least, he isn't reading directly off his notes the entire time. he mentions a Q and A session but he never does it. granted i was FF a bit but it would have been interesting to see if he would even understand the questions being asked of him and if he would be able to say something that isn't pre-prepared. for an older dude though, this isn't a bad example. i still think though that a man that was president of a european country for 10 years should speak much better english than that.

Just a question: How well presidents of USA can speak Spanish?

Presidents of the USA haven't had any reason to learn Spanish.

Probably quite a few of them. Certainly there have been plenty of French-speakers among them.

Fuzzywickets, since our US neighbor closest to our southern borders is Mexico, I'd say the push to learn at least basic Spanish is as strong as a European's to learn English.

that's laughable.

europeans need english to communicate with their neighbors as well as do international business. if you travel to Sweden, what language do you speak? what about Switzerland? what about Belgium? Portugal?

i fail to recognize how learning spanish for an american has the same urgency or level of importance. most americans want nothing to do with Mexico and the ones that actually visit Mexico only go to sit at a resort and get a sun tan and drink all day.....and everyone at the hotel speaks english. how accommodating.

16% of Americans are of latino descent and the vast majority of them are perfectly fluent in both spanish and english. for that tiny group that doesn't speak english, they're mostly illegal anyhow.
