Poles seem to be the sort that don't really mind for much and just seem to bumble along through life. Am I right?

Poland is the most buzzing place in the world. It's like a massive hive in the middle of Europe.

Something tells me Poland isn't the only thing buzzing tonight.

Poles do not bumble at all. I am Polish and everyone in my family is at the top of their field in the USA. My brother was on the top of Deutsche bank and Credit Lyonnaise, for example. My father ran one of the top ten largest companies in the USA. I run my own company. We are all Polish. I think the person who thinks Poles bumble is umm a bumbler, maybe a racist.

No, he was the plumber repairing the toilets on the top floor of the Deutsche Bank headquarters...

I must say, I do see a lot of bumbling types on the streets. They walk without direction and without any urgency or purpose. Not a lot of work going on half the time, just complaining in shops.

You can't closely follow people these days without due cause and precious few are intel officers. However, just watch people and think to yourself, 'what work are they really doing?'. I, for one, can't see anything remotely resembling work amongst quite a few here. Some are just too begrudging to work in teams so I applaud those that can. If complaining is work then they are at the top of the pile ;) ;)

As compared to those with a modicum of self-esteem.

No.
It would be incorrect to suggest that all Poles lack even a modicum of self-esteem.

For example, as Dr. Seanus carefully explained above, some Polish experts have risen to the top of the hierarchy.

The bumbling ones either aren't open to improving themselves or don't get the chance. I understand their economy of effort philosophy. They really undergo rigorous study programmes and often they don't get rewarded after. I really feel that some try and prop themselves up by increasing their pride but they many are torn inside and go abroad.

They know how to imitate success, but there is something within that just wants to sit around, drink vodka, smoke cigarettes, and hide from the world...

"Bumbling along through life"?
We work, have families, try hard to be someone, many of us have high motivation to enjoy better life.
Bumbling... What a nonsense.
A similar one? Do Afroamericans in slams "bumbling" through life?
Yes, many of them do, but, they are just a little part of American society. Poles are nationality.
Again, I have to say that I hate the title of the thread. Awful, harmful, biased and horrible +it's author presents a silly racializm.
So, author, no, you are not right IMO.
Tremendous minority do, about 90% don't. Like in most European societies.

I wished they'd 'bumble' when they drove, it would be safer for all of us.
