Banda i Wanda, 1983.

As a young boy, I couldn`t take my eyes off Wanda. Lady Gaga is lousy in comparison:

Music was great too. :):):):)

Sorry, forgot about the title: Factory of Dreams.

Another one: amazing rock love ballad by Urszula and the group called Budka Suflera, 1983:

Puff balls, kites and wind:

KULT: The song of young rowers

This is a contemporary remake of the band BULDOG, grouping people such as Kult's bassist Irek Wereński and of course Kazik Staszewski.

The original version can be only found in lo-fi:

Maanam - Luciola

Why many of their videos were made in Łódź? Are they from Łódź?

So what? They could film elsewhere... I don't know maybe they like the dirty charm of Łódź. It fits to the 80s new wave style very well (though Maanam is not new wave). Still I believe that in Kraków or in Warsaw of the 80s they would find as many dirty places.

Certainly, but also look to this: A young aspiring movie student had no money to take the camera elsewhere ;-)

Oh, they were punk & new wave at least at the break of 1970/80s. The first Maanam - Elektryczny Prysznic concert in Warsaw in Teatr Studio (it might be 1979 or early 1980) and following gig at a club neat to Most Poniatowski opposite Muzeum Wojska Polskiego were PUNK events and I can assure you on that. John Porter, Kora and Marek Jackowski played no drums but they were very PUNK ;-) The concerts were even described in the musical press of the era. Perhaps I could find some scans... Yes, I will.

Just a hint: CLICK
You'll see me among the first "one hundred punks" of Warsaw, and I know what I'm talking about. Check names under the pictures, you'll find many familiar names ;)

We have just had our annual biker rally at the lake near my house , and among the bands we had playing were the band KSU...

They were great and have a long and special history in Poland...

KSU is also the name of my Russian lady...short for Ksusha....

Next time you are in Poland go and see them... For me the best part of the concert was joining in with the singing of the song ( i live in Polska ) because i had just begun living in Polska...

Well , certainly complaining about how sh1t life is in Poland seems a very Polish thing , but i think this is due to communist times when Poles believed that everyone else in the world was living in a wonderfull country , and having a wonderfull life , which of course was not always true...

Honestly, why did you move to Poland?

My favorite as well.

I think Poland is wonderfull , but then i have never lived through communism , never had to live with parents and grandparents because i could not afford my own place... I am lucky that i can enjoy the good bits of Poland and don,t have to suffer the bad bits too much....

This is how i remember Poland

Why is almost all Polish rap from Western Poland?
Annoying.
In Western Poland you junk like Don Guralesko

While in East Poland you have great bands like Budka Suflera, Marek Grechuta, Unsun ect.

As for Kombi, they still made a better clip in mid 1980s, directed by a famous Polish director. Hilarious. See the murder scene at 2:00

The song was a hit on its own, too. Nice disco music.

But in early 1980s I was still more fascinated by Crisis Fiancee by Lady Pank:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft2xuB5Ps5g&feature=related, a true Slavic classic. A Serbian song about Russia with Czech and Slovene instruments, sung by Poles :) Kazik is truly comical :)
