People help each other all the time. I just helped someone stuck in the snow and ice the snowplow left piled on an intersection with the extra snow shovel in the trunk of my car. Snow emergencies are when people are most apt to help out :)

They put the toilet roll on the toilet roll holder.

Where most of your postings belong, no doubt.

Many Polish people do have a very kind heart. Look at how many people came together to help PLK, when he had become a victim of a violent crime. They offered him both financial and moral support.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

They rally around for noble causes like anyone else. A lot of shafting goes on abroad but many Poles do club together to help one another get set up. Also, like anybody else, it depends on their humour at the time. If they are in a bad mood, expect not to be looked at or served begrudgingly. If they are in fine fettle, they will be open and help openly.

not always. they will often watch you struggle and only help when asked.

females are more likely to get help than males. (example: a car that has broken down)

not much different to any other country, i suppose.

I think it is the majority of old biddies that do Poland a disservice. They are hard-nosed and very impolite in the main. The people I work with, all younger, are very helpful and are interested in the teamwork dynamic. Still, I can say the same about Scotland. It's really no different. The old hags are dour-faced sods there too in the main.

Hmmmm great question!I am married with a polish lady and we have a great son together and living together. But I must say polish people less caring and less helpful accordiing to my experience here in this great country.
I love the people though but it sad when you ask them to help you for something where they don't even have to spend a grosz but I think they are not really like to help.I also think it's best to live with them without asking them for any help.
