Would Polish people use a cattery?

Hi can anyone tell me if in Poland people use cattery's or kennels to look after their dogs and cats when they go on holiday.

there are a few around warsaw. some good and some not good. I suggest you visit the place first before you commit to it. When we were looking for a place for our dog we discovered that many of the kennels kept them locked in a cage for most of the day and let them out a few times to run. There was a really great place but it was all booked.
there is a cattery in warsaw in konstancin- if you are close to that.

I believe so, particularly if the price was good. The kennels that I have looked at were expensive and then I had to bring my own food on top of that and then they were just closets for the dog to stay in--for us it was just easier to have somebody dog sit. I don't particularly think keeping a dog or cat in one small room for a majority of the time is healthy for the animal- they need contact.
If it is a money making idea you are after- then there must be something better. If you genuinely like animals then maybe it is for you.

farmer121: if polish people would be willing to use them. Vets seem to do well, cat and dog hotels, hit and miss. Two pet parlors have gone out of business in the last six months. There seems to be a shortage of good branded pet accessories. A lot of it is own label.

Thanks again pip. I do genuinely like animals and due to the fact I am marrying my polish Girlfriend in January and have an ambition to own a cattery in the future where ever we decide to live (uk for near future) . I would want to do it properly similar to the cattery's in the uk but it of coarse it all depends on the demand for it in Poland.

From what I saw 20 years ago in the country towns at least, dogs are mostly used as guards as there is a lot of petty theft. They fend for themselves and are fed scraps. When our relatives came over to England we were in the supermarket and they happened to see cans of dog food with a picture of a dog on the can.The woman threw up her hands in horror that we eat dogs in England ! When we explained that this is food to GIVE to dogs she was in shock that we would buy food for a dog.

Like I said,it was 20 years ago. When I was there the shops hardly had anything for humans,there were shortages of everything except beer and vodka. So no ,she was'nt winding me up and I never saw any pampered pets either but I may be different in the bigger cities.

The places are extremely expensive, especially around Warsaw.

I was near Katowice in a small town ,just telling it like it was. you could not even buy a box of tampons . My cousins wife lined up for an hour to get 2 cans of tuna. My cousin and her husband had just renovated thier bathroom but could not buy a shower curtain anywhere, I sent them 2 when I got back to UK. If your pic. really is you it seems that you are not much older than 20. If that is true, I'm old enough to be your Mother so dont call me an idiot you cheeky little sod.
