I lived in Poznan for eight years and frequently heard how people there are very concerned with money. I never really saw it though, but that's probably because I never lived anywhere else in Poland. Any truth to it?

tightwad? I don't think so. However, my husband who is from Sopot has said that Poles from Poznan are the worst at flaunting their money.

No way, quite the opposite - Warsaw is by far the worst.

Totally agree with Delph here.
There is a general opinion about people from Poznan that they need to bargain and count every penny. It's just joking, but this has a bit of truth. From what I noticed when living in Poznan for a long time, their attitude is very good: Poznaniacy simply don't like to overpay.

Yes. If somebody stays in Poznań for a longer period, it is customary to ask him whether he started recycling toilet paper already. But I noticed that this obsession with tiny sums of money is not limited to Poznań - other Greater Poland areas are similar.

My cousin's boss is from Warsaw. He likes to brag about how much money he makes from his business.
He also makes it very well-known; he really enjoys spending his money too!

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!
