Hey goofy I'm on your side in this one. I just don't like chanting in general, particularly not when it happens every 20 seconds during somebody's speech. I agree that Miecugow got what he deserved. I remember seeing an undercover report on Woodstock. Some of the people there, when interviewed, were talking about how much they don't give a crap about their country etc. Many of them were making all types of obscene gestures at the camera, and so on.

it should be remembered that restless and rebeliious but gullible teens are such easy prey for the pop-culture establishment which uses every psychological trick and marketing gimmick in the book to make the gadget, snack, pop hit, computer game, fashion, lifestyle or viewpoint they happen to be peddling appear desirable and attractive. The powers of omnipresent commercialism exploit the teenager's feelings of inadequacy, uncertainty, confusion and fear of rejection and persuade him that by using their product or following their advice he will gain peer acceptance and become one of the in-crowd.

Yes, it's easy to influence teenagers but you forget about another thing- they do have a mind of their own. And are not some sheeps that are following no matter what ( no religious reference intended). Give young ppl some credit. After all we were all teenagers and we survived somehow.

@ Lenka

You'd be surprised how many teenagers, when pressed on why they do a certain thing [wear certain clothing, drink alcohol, have certain gadgets etc], said that it was because their friends do it/ have it.

Yes they have minds, but remember, they are young. I honestly think that you need to live through life and mature a little before you know what is important and what is needless ********. Some adults still don't mature to that level, even when they are older.

I agree with that but how are they supposed to learn? Let them expirience life and learn for themselves.Of course that doesn't mean letting them do all what they want to but going to Woodstock is quite harmless in my opinion. And a great expirience. My nephew worked and saved to go there last year and came back thrilled. Ofc there are some bad things happening there but it happens everywhere when such big group of ppl come together.

Telling teenagers they are not wise enough to make decission of their own (with some control of the parents ofc) and they are just creation of pop culture makes for poor adults who don't believe in themselfs and can't make their own decission. Everyone has to learn how to function in society and being a teenager is the right time. So let them see the world for what it is, expirience different things, even fail from time to time and learn.

There's a saiyng in ameirca -- abotu as much good manners as at a heavy metal concert...
Is it the pop/rock scene that is teaching young people good manners, kindness to others, altrusim, self-control, giving up their seat to an elderly person in a tram, sharing, respect for elders, doing good deeds, helping the less fortunate?

Some of it does. Some of it doesn't. Simple. Like with everything else.

You think that is the function of music, or arts in general?

leftists rhetoric is quite funny, when young people choose to go on the march, wave a polish flag, pray for the Fallen and sing patriotic songs then they are called brainwashed...

but when other young people choose to have some sex, play in a puddle, listen to trashy anti polish musi, smoke some pot, weed or hard drugs and hear some left ideology from the stage such "Stop mocherom" katofaszysci etc ...

I call brainwashed ppl brainwashed- no matter which side.

Maybe you didn't notice but I see both sides equally cool:

We can all co exist and there is no need for making it a battle. Let's have both Przystanek Woodstock and Przystanek Jesus peacefully with respect for ppl choices.

You are the one who only accepts one side

so people who listen to heavy metal and rock are people who don't do the stuff mentioned above ?

and i have never heard in my life a song that teaches people good manners or anything above ....

Any link to this saying of yours? Or does it fall into the same category as Pając Kultury?

song that teaches people good manners or anything above

Nearly all religious hymns do. So does Christian rock.

@harry

first of all ,music isn't more powerful than media .
and no ,music don't affect people that much ,I listen to hard rock and heavy metal ,it doesn't affect my personality ,I just listen to it because it's good music in my opinion and I enjoy it .

do you expect people who start listen to such music to start worshiping satan ? and start doing drugs ,getting drunk all the time ,being violent !? it's absurd

I don't get what's all the hub-bub about calling the concert a deprivation fest. Even Maynard James Keenan, frontman of a very successful progressive metal group Tool, said that all concerts were just a place of decadence.
