So you take these peoples word for it, and think you wouldn't want to live there? You're playing right into their filthy hands...

Why don't you just get on the next plane that leaves Poland then and do us all a favour.

Because there are many more 'cons' about the UK, for example so many people who just like to flame on the internet when somebody states their opinion.
My list is simply a list of likes and dislikes, this does not mean I hate the country. On the contrary, I find the difficulties I am experiencing in this country to be character building and are giving me a true insight into the country and culture. As I settle into Polish life and summer returns, no doubt there will be many more good things I see.

Oh, I forgot to mention architecture as a good point!

No, coming to the point of promoting Poland. Do we want dictatorship style propogander or honest personal opinions and discussions? Personally, I feel the discussions are much more powerful. I may see something as bad, somebody else may see it as good. Through intelligent, mature discussion, we can find a common ground. If we all thought the same, what a boring world this would be. Communism anybody?

I have to say that I don't hate Poland at all. I lived there for a time, really only about a year or so. While there were things that I disliked, I would have to say that anything negative that I experienced was certainly NOT limited to Poland or the Poles. I find spending time in places like NYC for instance, far far more annoying and frustrating than anything that I experienced in Poland.

I agree with you. Its been over a year and although its not all roses no place is. I have lived in other places as well and its fine here. No matter where you go there you are. If you dont like yourself than you wont like anyplace. I mean you as in one not anybody in particular.

Three things which used to make me furious but now I quite enjoy.

Driving in Poland

Visiting Polish offices

The need to chop wood

Jesus Filios what's wrong with you man? Let it slide...

3 things I hate about Poland:

1. Line skipping, people skip in line like it's in the constitution, I've been in situations where a person would suddenly appear next to me in the middle of the line, with the clear intention of 'racing' me to the register..

2. people staring without any shame.

3. people who stare at me while attempting to skip me in line.

Other than that I've gotten over my initial misgivings, Poland's good.

From personal experiances and experiances that I have discussed with work collegues, fellow students etc.

Polish people are -

Deceitful,
aloof,
inward,
cold,
are aflicted with a deep inferiority complex (just try telling them they are eastern european),
rude,
miserable,

I have met many nationalities in university, I have made friends with americans, indians, french, german, swedish, icelandic etc. none of whom portray these negative attributes that are contained in the eastern european psyche.

I am against all mass immigration as you may know but I have put that aside to give an honest perspective from my point of view and the point of view that many people I know hold.

How ironic that the very nationalities that you have mentioned are all mixed up with the gobal banking crisis.
Deceitful ( the fat cats in the City and Wall St have really earned their bonuses)
allof ( they are sure the government will bail them out)
inward ( taken the million $ bonuses , ignore the rest of us who have to pay to put it all right)
cold (not interested how other people are going to manage )
deep inferiority complex ( If the yanks are cashing in, we must do the same )
rude (no immigration, you must be the kind and pleasent one )
Miserable ( the whole of UK must now be miserable with the value of shares and savings going pear shaped)

Have you ever wondered that it might be because you're ugly?

Shut your filthy mouth, and don't ever liken what I have to say to communism again.

So? You're still supposed to show good manners. Having travelled around this is the first place I've been to where people stare so rudely.

But then again, you could be on to something, it's either because I'm shockingly ugly, or so dashingly handsome that they can't help it.

PolskaDoll:

I doubt you actually "hate" them. Hate is a very strong emotion and I seriously doubt you feel that at all for Poland or for Polish people. Hate is reserved for dictators and murderers and rapists (for example).

This feeling is not unknown for ordinary people. Just duo to many reasons they somehow manage abandon physical actions.

PolskaDoll:

You may dislike Polish people and you may even dislike an entire nation but perhaps you'd like to provide an in depth reasoning as to why? Never mind saying they are toilet cleaners or any of that other nonsense you come out with. If you have a legitimate dislike of all things Polish then please explain it fully, without swearing, without silly pictures and without blaming them for all that is wrong with this country (actually it's the government that's wrong with this country and not the people living here).

Do you really want to know what he really think? Better to ignore such people, he is on my list of "people to debate" somewhere between Robert Mugabe and Britney Spears.

It is nearly impossible to be beneath you. I'm saying "nearly" because I'm not sure your mental handicap is a family trait, or perhaps you are unique.

How so? Or do you mean the Pomgolians in Poland are much worse, because that would be an indisputable truth, wouldn't it?

No worries here. I used to think it was bad. Now I think it's just another slavic feature. Just part of the whole picture. It's completely similar to Russia. I hate it every time ater the US then get used.

by all means do not go to india. they are the worst or best line skippers and starers. I got into a nice shoving match last time I was there although I actually enjoyed it and had a laugh about it with the guy later when he was standing behind me

Mind you if noimagination ever learns to spell we may find his 'contributions' even more offensive. As it stands I can't read half of them, which is a good thing.

should be "at university" of course. Using the wrong prepositions is a classic non-native speaker mistake.

The food.

I find it amusing that people from USA, Uk ( countires with top processed, greasy, unhealthy food iand streets full of obese people) criticise polish food.

Ok- people have different tastes and like different food but polish food is at least freshly cooked.

Not baked beans from tins...carrots from tins....potatoes from tins....soups from tins.....
