name a religion which is not agressive. I know only one - hinduism (remember that buddism is not religion so it doesnt count).

The religions themselves aren't aggressive, their followers are. Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists...

Anyway, all true Christians would pray first and foremost that Adam makes a speedy recovery.

Ironside, he had the sticker just like 95% of people here. He was NOT excommunicated, thus still a Catholic. Oh, he didn't practise I hear you say. Well, go and tell that to over 35% of your population. YOUR church created onerous rules for marriage and divorce, requirements NOT imposed by a Protestant church. They believe in human fallibility and are thus more flexible. But a sheep is still a sheep, right? The essence is the same! Nergal implied all of these things and would back me up.

So religion has failed abysmally then? Jesus died for us all and expiated our sins yet we still behave like barbarians 2000 years on? Wow, that's reassuring ;)

Then your culture is prime pickings for brainwashing. Until you accept that priests were not supposed to be God's intermediaries, this will continue by ruthless profiteers playing on peoples' sensibilities.

Priest are too latent for my testes and the church is too timid.
There were always the case and those profiteers were and are not only in church or not primarily in the church.

Well, imagine people without religions and its tempering and civilizing influence:)were would we be? You are taking too many things for granted - due to religion influence, on the other hand you blame all failings on religion.
Ah! Protestants cannot be an example because if anybody they make a war with -God is on our side- a rule, anyway against they Christian breather !

Well, good to know but they are not too latent for the testes of young boys ;) ;) Testes are gonads/eggs btw. I think you meant tastes :) Not primarily in the church, I agree. However, more and more are.

You have missed the point a little, IS. It is just because people are the way they are that religion doesn't work on the majority. I actually laughed the last time I was in church. The minister was reeling off about loving your neighbour and I could see that many present were the kind that would take great delight in seeing their neighbour's demise. I don't blame religion, I blame people. It's up to you how you carry the message and I try to carry it well.

Neither do I but this is a discussion.

People are the way they are because of deep cultural imprint which even religion wasn't able to change but only modify.
Interesting to consider pastoral versus agricultural - old world versus new:)

Hope they'll find a donor. He's such a great musician and songwriter. The metal scene can't lose someone like that!
