WHO'S LEAVING WHAT COUNTRY FOR A BETTER LIFE??

Poles are often thought to be the ones leaving Poland in record numbers for countries like the UK and Ireland. What other countries are compelling their citizens to leave? I've heard there's a lot of Italians in the UK as well. And isn't unemployment in Spain around 20%? Where are they going for work? And in Toronto recently I've come across a lot of Brits and Frenchies. They seem to be leaving in big numbers too.
Why are Poles the only ones seen as "invading" Europe with cheap labour?

I am a Brit who left the UK to come to Poland for a better life...and i am now leaving Poland for a better life in Russia...i hope...?

Nah...they are coming for Germany much longer! :)
Polonia in Germany is said to be the biggest in Europe and second only to the US...

Poles leaving for other shores is an old stories...Germans did/do so as well...

I shall remain on PF... even though i am in the wild badlands of Russia...most of it seems to be on fire at the present moment..!

I've seen images of Moscow yesterday in german TV...oxygen in the air is down at 20 percent, full of smoke, temperatures over 35 degrees now for weeks, the turf around the city us burning till to 2 miles deep, not enough water to arc since the other near towns and villages already suffer a water shortage...

I'm not saying they're responsible, but because of their large numbers they've initiated a domino effect within Europe. It's not something to cheer about, because the result will be modern-day slave labour for everyone who belongs to working class if we're all going to accept this in silence. I don't blame the Polish though, I blame Brussels.

What's next I wonder? A few million Chinese workers pouring into Europe? I think the cheap labour hype will affect everyone in the long run though, including the ones who promoted this wonderful idea.

Nothing new and nothing to promote for millennia already...people always wandered towards work and a better life.
(That's why we left Africa in the first place!) ;)
It was much easier in a Europe without borders for centuries and it get's that way again.

How do you think the mighty USofA got populated (with non-natives that is)???

All peoples did this and will continue to do so...

I remember when they started the Common Market as it was called, people said it would turn out to be a rich mans club, and thats exactly what happened.

How so?

The "rich men" don't need all the simplifications concerning work, living, traveling, study etc.
The "rich men" neither need the billions of EU support in infrastructure and what not...
The "rich men" could have stayed very well between each other without inviting the poorer neighbours and investing alot of their riches.
The "rich men" could very well do without bailing out the failing members...
The "rich men" don't need polish guest workers as much the polish workers need the better possibilities for work and to earn money....

Well...it was tried for 2 millennia in Europe.

That's where you're wrong. A lot of people do not meet the requirements, and a lot of people simply don't have enough qualifications. So more and more young people will end up living on benefits, simply because they can't make a start anywhere. When you flood a country with foreign workers, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone of the indigenous population who just left high school won't be able to find a job to finance a study, or anything else for that matter, unless you're lucky enough to have successful parents who can help you a hand. Oh, and of course there will also be foreign workers who won't be able to find a job in an already overcrowded country, which means they're going to apply for benefits aswell, or remain in the illegal circuit.

Well, if someone allowed me to work a simple job in my own country, then maybe I could actually buy a ticket to try my luck elsewhere.

We are just to spoiled! ;)

Our ancestors made it by foot or in the stinking, over crowded storage room deep in some rowing cob...but nooo YOU want a "ticket", probably with some catering on top... :):):)

I can write a few basic sentences, and pronounce a few words without sounding extremely funny, but I don't speak it well enough to have a decent conversation just yet. I'm sure I can learn it though, but I need to be able to practice. Why? Do you know of a Polish man or woman who has a job for a Dutch guy? Because I certainly don't!

I think your going the opposite direction. You're going to worser and worser economic areas.

That is because the dutch dream of " its not my problem" has now become a big problem with the invasion of the north africans and russians. The Netherlands is a sinking ship, it can no longer carry the weight and financial burden of the long term sick and unemployed. Would you want to pay 50% tax on your earnings to support unemployed Morrocan families who go off to north Africa for six weeks in the summer and the NL Gov pays for it. It is a complete farce the whole benefits system in the lower country. Dutch people on the whole are nice people but even they now admit the system is failing.

Oh..its just i know a Polish friend who needs an auto electrician in his business...seems all the Polish ones have gone elsewhere...!

Just do the CNC programing course and you'll find job everywhere. I see plenty of ads in newspapers looking for specialists.
