Why are some Polish people dark complected,and others very light

i am adopted and had a wonderful upbringing with loving parents.

Armenians were not "dark skinned" genetically. Over time SOME areas mixed with arabs countries due to invasions. Also the filthy turks killed millions of armenians.

I have the same stupid problem.. I tried to think either tatarzy or some sort of romowie.. I have been asked if I was Armenian or Arab, because I have black eyes and darker skin, but I have brown-red hair. Everyone in my family had olive/light brown skin, black eyes, and jet black hair. The only thing to do is to do an autosomal DNA test and it will test your ethnic composition... Btw, there were Romans, Scythians (light features), Sarmatians (light features), Armenian, Arabs, Jews, Turkics <ie Khazars, Tatars, etc.> (not Turkish*), Greeks, Gypsies (Roma), and many others that were darker came to this exact area.

Yep, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was very multi-culti. Add to that all those wars that took place on this land and all those amounts of rapes that followed it and you will know why half of my family could play Gypsies/Turks/Romanians/etc and the other half look like bloody Aryans.

Depends what you mean when you say olive, as there are many shades of it.

I don't know if I have an olive skin, but I definattely tan well. People generally think that I'm a Turk or Romanian.

I don't mind being white either, but I have very fair skin and am more likely to burn as opposed to someone with olive skin......has nothing to do with tanning........ I just think olive skin is a beautiful color for skin. My father had olive skin, my mother was a fair skinned Irish Lass.....guess who I take after! Another thing I think is it falls in line with the human yearning of having something we don't have......example, I always wanted curly hair, because mind is straight. I have a friend who has curly hair that wishes she had straight hair......simply a case of the grass being greener......
