Maybe Admin thinks you're the one behind all the Sparky's?

Here's something you wrote in a different thread:

Thanks for pointing it out. "Sparky" it seems you caused the trouble yourself. If you don't remember a password, click on the Password link on the main page. Admin

I hope not. But because of all the bad publicity from the other ones. I think I will have to change my name.

No you caused the problem when you allowed people to have the same names.

Why you want the truth.
I was all the Sparky's. Except for Sparky 359 he is the one that stole my name. And the Admin. didn't do anything about it when I complained to him.
So I decided If I have to start over than I am ruining the name Sparky.
If I can't have it than I will destroy it so no one will want it.
Call me Crazy I don't care. This isn't the only forum
Bye

Well, it is impossible to have the SAME usernames. You may try to register as "sparky" again and you'll notice you won't be able to do that.

If you are referring to the fact that it is possible to have Name and Name232 as usernames -- it's how the Internet and the websites for registered users work. It's the world standard (a while ago I registered an emali address with gmail as "myname2" and I hope the guy with myname name will not sue me or google for that...).

I have been on plenty of forums that can restrict the use of names. Maybe you should buy some new software.

It seems the forums you visited weren't very busy. If you say it should be impossible to register as "Sparky5" just because there is already user with the name "Sparky", the limit of users would be restricted to a few thousands only (there are no more than a few thousand popular words in the dictionary). What about "Spark", "Spar", or "Spa" or "SparkyMan" - shouldn't be allowed either?

Here is a list of the biggest online forums: big-boards.com

I've just done a small experiment. I signed up on the biggest Internet forum - gaiaonline.com. This forum has over 6 million registered members.

I noticed there was a member with the username: kikigirl.

gaiaonline.com/profile/index.php?view=search.ShowSearch&typ e=username&item=kikigirl

I registered without problems as: kikigirl2

gaiaonline.com/profile/index.php?view=search.ShowSearch&typ e=username&item=kikigirl2

If you have time, you may count how many usernames starting from the word: girl to girlX (where X is a numer) there are.

Cheers,

Admin

I know but people make mistakes. Also if you do a search alot of times you get the other people instead of your target person.
