Im working in Southend at the moment (Im English - polish wife)
There are lots of Poles in Southend (twinned with the polish resort of Sopot no less)
I cant help you with work but there are a few "newsagents" (Newspaper shops) on the London Road which have lots of polish adverts in the window, There is also a Polish cafe called Polanka which may have a notice board.
