Adamek is the world’s third-ranked heavyweight, and oddsmakers have given McBride less chance of beating him — 50 to 1 in some cases — than they gave him against Tyson.

Why the hell is Adamek wasting his time with this chump? He's not even got enough skill to last more than a couple of rounds - is Adamek just looking for an easy payday from the Polish and Irish Americans, similar to what Haye did with Fraudley?

Just goes to show how poor the rankings actually are.

Adamek is very much #4/5 behind the Klitschko brothers and Haye - the only rankings worth listening to are The Ring's ratings - http://ringtv.craveonline.com/ratings/49-heavyweight . Adamek doesn't also have possession of one of the "big 4" belts - he really cannot be ranked #3.

He should not be wasting his time with chumps like McBride - although I guess this will be his last fight before stepping up against one of the top 3. I suppose this will be his big payday before the day of reckoning.

No not overall, he's ranked #3 in the IBF rankings alone. Eddie Chambers is 1st, second spot is vacant, he's 3rd.

Vitali is retiring after a few more bouts as he said himself, Wladimir isn't exactly young himself (35) not many good heavyweights out there, the bells are up for grabs. Maybe Adamek will be world champ, sooner or later.

I think Dimitrenko will keep him in check :)
Anyhow, all the best to the Polish boxer.
What about Klitchko-Adamek? Are they fighting this year or no? I don't really follow the box recently.

Chambers, 1st?!

The IBF has been a joke for years, but this is really ridiculous. Chambers got beaten up badly by Wladimir Klitschko and even lost to Povetkin - how the hell can he be ranked #1?!

Adamek really needs to fight one of the big 3, not some chump who beat Tyson with a fluke. I like Adamek and his style is appealing, but he really needs to stop fighting chumps and start fighting top #10 contenders.

Haye will fight one of the brothers, and Adamek should fight the other. The winners should then fight each other to crown a new undisputed champion - or at least in theory.

Thanks, delphi. I hope all these fights come true.

Boxing is so corrupt due to the enormous amounts of money for each important fight, judges are bribed, fighter to throw fights by boxing promoters, managers, people doing gambling. Don King basically has a monopoly in this sport, Golota as a good fighter in his prime got one title shot against Lennox Lewis, as a older fighter not ranked anywhere near the top 3 while with Don King he got 3 title shots (Byrd, Ruiz, Brewster) King said if he defeated Ray Austin he would have gotten an another one!!! WTF

Boxers these day are cautious once they get the crow they wanna keep it and fight less dangerous fighters while making big bucks for them. I'm not sure if those good old days will come back.

This is purely a warm up fight for Adamek for the already contracted fight against Vlad in September, to be staged in either Wroclaw or Warsaw

He didn't seriously hurt McBride even once, McBride almost didn't fight back at all expect for a occasional punch. Adamek should just retire now save him the embarrassment with Klitschko.

It's his problem - he fights like a cruiserweight. He really needed the big KO against McBride - but failing to get it really doesn't help him.

He'll get destroyed by either one of them given this latest performance. I'm watching that final round now and his punches just don't have any power behind them - which is fine for fighting most of the bums in the Heavyweight division, but it's not going to help him beat either brother. Even Adamek himself says that he can't fight at much more than 218lbs as he'll lose all his speed - and he'll need speed to beat either Klitschko.

If he's wise, he'll keep fighting bums in America/Poland and stay well clear of any of the real big hitters. McBride is big and slow - compare this to Vitali Klitschko -

Adamek's only hope would be to hit and run, hit and run for 12 rounds.

His problem is that he's just not a box office draw - failing to knock out McBride in style hurts him, and only getting 7,500 into an arena that holds about 19,000 is a box office flop.

As I said before he doesn't have the punching power to be a heavyweight champion. McBride was basically a punching bag, occasionally when he did connect he staggered Adamek, in the 3rd or 4th round he hit Adamek with a hard punch to the body Adamek dropped like a sack of potatoes (i don't think it was counted as a knockdown). Vitali wont just stand there, he'll use his size and strength to his advantage, pumping his long jab in his face, quicker reflexes and much harder punch. Adamek doesn't stand a chance.
