Marcin Gortat of the Orlando Magic. He's played very well this season in the backup center role for the Magic, coming out of nowhere to be honest.
He got the start today in place of suspended superstar Dwight Howard and came up big for the Magic in there victory. With 11 points and 15 rebounds he's really building a name for himself and at the most important time - the post season/playoffs.
At this point he's the best Polish born NBA player ever and is only getting started. I would be surprised to see him not starting on a team within the next two seasons. Here's a little background information on him
Marcin Gortat (pronounced MAR-chin GOR-tat[3]) (born February 17, 1984 in £ód¼) is a Polish professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the NBA. He was a second-round draft choice of the Phoenix Suns in the 2005 NBA Draft and was traded for future cash considerations to the Magic. A 6'11" and 240 lb center, he is the son of boxer Janusz Gortat. Prior to his NBA career, Gortat started his career in £KS £ód¼, then he played 3 seasons in RheinEnergie Koln in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga. Gortat has a few nicknames in the NBA such as "The Warlock", "Polish Hammer", "Polish Prince" and "Polish Machine" .[3]
