Polanglik:
Question for IronsE11 : Do you recall a Pole playing for West Ham in the 70's or 80's called Anton Otulakowski ? What ever became of him ?

I was born in 1982, and whilst I attended my first game aged two weeks old (I saw Trevor Brooking play whilst in my carry cot), I have only had a season ticket since 1988. I'm therefore not familiar with him.

He does share the same name as one of our current players though. The brother of the best centre half in the world, who incidentally also used to play for us.

I've always liked West Ham as a footballing team, and even supported them in my early years, but gradually my grandad wore me down by taking me to Craven Cottage and I started supporting Fulham because it's one of my local teams :o)

It could have been Chelsea, QPR or Brentford, but thanks to Grandad it became Fulham.

I have now inflicted the same on my son, who at 5yrs old has a season ticket and supports Fulham - I think it's important to support one of your local teams, and find it amusing to hear people saying they 'support' Man Utd or Liverpool having been born in London and admitting they have never been to Old Trafford or Anfield !

My team in Poland is Wisła Krakow because as a kid I used to spend many a holiday in that beautiful city and I plan to move to Krakow in the next year or two.

Try watching their brand of 'football' now. Truly soul-destroying. They do have the best youth academy around though :)

Thank god (or your grandfather) that it wasn't Chelsea!! I don't have anything against Fulham as a team, I just hate their utter c*nt of a chairman (but that is a whole other story)!

My g/f is from Krakow so I may take them up as my team in Poland. Having said that, I think her family might support the 'other' Krakow team. Forgive my ignorance in regards to Polish football, but I don't know what they are called!

Cracovia is probably your g/f's team :o)
For the sake of a quiet life and keeping sweet with potential 'in-laws' I'd get yourself a Cracovia scarf and shirt:o)

On my last visit I arrived in Krakow on a Wednesday and didn't know that Cracovia had a home game that evening, although on the way back to my hotel (situated right next to Cracovia's stadium) I could hear the chanting and saw the floodlights - it's a shame because had I known I'd have seen two games during my stay.

I went to my first Wisła game on that visit a few weeks ago ....excellent atmosphere and we won 2-0 :o)

My girlfriend used to work in the charman's (Mr Fayed's) office at Harrods (she still works in the restaurant) which is the source of one of the many issues I have with the c*nt.

Does he play for Southampton, is that the one?
Guest  May 7, 08, 17:31    #195
Yes, but he's on loan to Bolton, i think. Had a good year with Southampton in 06-07.

For the 42nd time, wow :P
They just beat Dundee U 1-0, while Rangers got beaten 2-0 at Aberdeen.
After Kuszczak last night, European champion, now Boruc, Scotland champion ;)

Ironically, it was Dundee United's Polish goalie, Lukasz Zaluska who made the better saves during this evening's match! :)

Noooo! I never said that! For the record, Seanus said that, I'm not from Aberdeen and I don't support them! Polson, your quoting lessons start tomorrow at 8.30AM sharp! ;)

People in Aberdeen don't like either of the 2. Maybe we hate Rangers more, that'd be my guess.

Here's a clue, we have possibly the worst Polish goalkeeper (thankfully on loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle :) Zbigniew Małkowski. If he is still on loan. Hopefully he's just gone...

Hehe ;) I didn't choose the Faroese Islands au hasard, it means the islands of sheep in Faroese (or Danish/Old Norse...)

Hibernian are our arch-rivals. I shouldn't say our as I can hardly describe myself as a fan.

Och laddie, a ken far yon islands are. I know the Faroe Islands.
