Yea, i guess you would have to actually hear me say my joke in a very adventurous tone at the start as i fickle out saying "...as with all black play...ers...GO OLIS!!"...joke being that he's black and that you cant be genetically polish when being black...through and through.
Dont worry, plenty more punchlines coming soon!

Kurawski is good but Brożek is like amazing, and Andrzej Niedzielan is also dope.

Because when a player is 34 years old, he usually ain't as good a player as he was.

Blaszczykowski,

Probably one of the best Polish players playing today; however to be compared to the greats like Lato, Deyna, Boniek he has to perform well consistently and also do it at World Cup or Euro.

Having said that, look at the few truly great players who have never had the opportunity to show off their skills at a World Cup like George Best, Ryan Giggs, Włodzimierz Lubanski (although I believe he played very briefly in WC )

At club level Błaszczykowski should be be playing regularly for a team in the Champions League where he can test himself against the world's best.

Let's see how he performs over the next 5 seasons and what he achieves, then it will be fair to compare him with the greats of football.

A lot of the good Polish soccer players are playing for foreign teams.

Pity...

Sadly all our good players, Miroslav Klose and Loukas Podolski (with consideration to Piotr Trochowski) all play for the German national team, die Mannschaft (The Team). All are native Poles but who grew up in Germany and learned the game there.

According to Wikipedia, there is conflict over whether Trochowski wanted to play for the PZPN (Polish national football team) and they didn't want him or he wanted to play for Germany since he "learned the game there, and they taught me (him) how to play"

Both Klose and Trochowski play for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, Germany's highest league. What makes me really sad (and angry) every four years, is not only do traitors Klose and Podolski play for rival Germany but they aren't just two good players, they are two of the best in the entire world at their positions. How amazing and exciting would it be if Poland had them especially and even, all three? Germany would certainly be in most every World Cup because of their population size and talent pool not to mention long, and rich history of success but at least Poland could join them too.

Podolski, young, atheletic, arrogant which you have to love, would look great in his native red and white. Klose too.

As of now, Poland literally cannot score. They have no strikers and get shut out in every match. Their last three friendlies being a 6-0 beating by Spain, a 3-0 shutout by Finland, and a loss to Switzerland. Their two best players, I believe are Dawid Nowak and Dariusz Dudka and they are simply by default since the rest of the team is so bad. Marisz Lewandowski is terrible and can't defend.

They do have another Lewandowski, Robert, who is only 22 to Marisz's 31. Maybe he'll be a ray of hope along with new manager, Franciszek Smuda who has to make the team more aggressive offensively and defensively and find younger players, with more potential as the most recent squads are tapped out and too old. They cannot compete with the deeper clubs. Poland has no depth. How do the U-19, 20, and 21 league's look? What does the future hold? Smuda's call-ups are younger, but will they be any better (and ultimately faster?)

Seeing how Poland is joint-hosting EURO 2012 very soon, I hope they use this time to recruit better players so they can at least be respectable hosts and not go out like SA did in the 2010 World Cup. They also must learn from their mistakes and seeing how they keep getting shut out, so far they have not, sad to say.

Their Oct 9th test against Mexico in the U.S. will be interesting with the amount of Polish fans in Chicago where the match is played, or the Sep 12 friendly against the U.S. in NY.

I've just had a thought...if either Klose and/or Podolski make it into the Mannschaft for the EURO 2012 how will they be received in Poland...by the Poles?

Will they have to fear for their lives?

PS: I've read another Germole, Sebastian Boenisch, is eligible and willing to play for Poland...so, heads up! :)

Bratwurst Boy,

Thanks! Just read about Boenisch. He isn't willing to play for Poland, he is playing for them having recently been called up! read his wikipedia page on how close he was to being the next Klose/Trochowski/Podolski and going to Germany and playing for them on their U-21 team as his club team is Werder Bremen of Bundesliga.

Scary how that's working. What is wrong wit the PZPN and their inability to recognize and keep talent at home?!

Sounds like the kid had a real back and forth decision but it was manager Smuda who kept him at home. I hope we can build off this. I will be looking for him to see what he can do October 9 vs. U.S. in Chicago even though I won't be there. I will watch it. He could be everything Podolski was supposed to be, but a more accurate comparison may be Trochowski since they are both midfielders and Poldi is a striker, the one position Poland desperately needs more than any other and can't ever find. This kid, however, may be the best thing going into 2012.

We need to find more of them. Good start. Send more players to watch my way! Remember when I said they need to get younger and more talented? That is exactly what I had in mind.

I suppose if Poland starts training talent internally instead of trying to pull kids that grew up in Germany, their chances of landing talent might be a bit higher.

Lost in all this, Poland also brought back the Holy Goalie, Artur Boruc and 2002 World Cup veteran Arkadiusz Głowacki in surprise moves, but moves nonetheless the fans should really endorse.
